Going Home
We knew that you were leaving us
You were not here to stay
We prayed to accept the will of God
It had to be that way.
You tried so hard to keep from us
Your suffering and pain
We knew that God was in our midst
And you would live again.
We are so weak, but he is strong
We had to let you go
We could not pray to keep you here
Although we wished it so.
We love you so very much
Our hearts do ache with pain
Because our lives are so inclined
You did not live in vain.
God wanted you; he needed you
He took you home to rest
All of us loved you dearly
But God loved you best.
Acknowledgement
