

Winston was born on July 9, 1941, in Clarendon, Jamaica, and was one of eight children. From a young age, he loved fishing and carried with him a strong spirit, wonderful sense of humor, and deep love for his family throughout his life.
Winston later made his home in Flushing, New York, where he and his beloved wife Cheryl raised their family together. Winston worked hard throughout his life to provide for those he loved. Together, he and Cheryl built and operated a successful home improvement business for 31 years through dedication, perseverance, and teamwork. He took great pride in building and creating things with his hands.
Winston and Cheryl shared 53 loving years of marriage, building a life centered around family, resilience, laughter, and love.
Outside of work, Winston found joy in music, food, and storytelling. He loved listening to all genres of music, especially Motown, ska, reggae, classical, and pop music. He was known as an excellent cook, and his infamous curry goat became a favorite among friends and family gatherings. Winston was also a gifted storyteller who loved sharing stories about his life and childhood in Jamaica, often bringing laughter and joy to those around him.
Winston will be remembered for his kindness, strength, humor, and unwavering love for his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose presence brought comfort, warmth, and laughter to so many.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl; his son, Jason; his daughter, Debbie; his granddaughter, Camille; his grandson, Quinn; his beloved grand pups, Articus, Brooklyn, and Pogo; as well as several loving siblings, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Winston passed away on May 16, 2026, and though he will be deeply missed, the memories, lessons, laughter, and love he shared will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund in Winston’s memory.
Visitation will be held at Quinn Fogarty Funeral Home, 192-15 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY 11358, on Tuesday May 26, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Funeral Mass will take place at Mary's Nativity - St. Ann Parish, 46-02 Parsons Blvd, New York, NY 11355,10:45 am, on Wednesday May 27, 2026.
A Committal Service will follow at Mount St. Mary Cemetery, 172-00 Booth Memorial Ave, New York, NY 11365.
