It was so sad to hear that Huang Xuanwen (Wendy) had past away. She was so weak when I was staying in her house for 10 days during May 2015, and she said it might be the last time we were seeing each other.

We had met first time when we were in the China-West German Energy Project in Guangzhou, China early 1980's and became good friends since then.

Xuanwen was the most intelligent woman I have ever met. She had enjoyed her life, always paid attention to her surroundings: her family, relatives, society, and political environment. She was humored, and it was full of joy whenever talked with her. She had never given up and always had positive attitude with her life and her long journey fighting with diseases.

I miss you, Xuanwen.

Because we love to eat, our visits from to SF to NY always turned into food fests.  Aunt Wendy would good-naturedly accompany us on our day-long food hunts, which would typically end with a late night chat session in our hotel room, only to start all over again the next morning with a dim-sum lunch, followed by yet another round of food foray. The first meeting,  my father bringing Uncle Toy to meet her at "MacDonald's."    She and I couldn't stop laughing over this.   This is how I want to remember her.

I will always remember the fun we had biking in RI with Aunt Wendy, her generosity, and terrific sense of humor. I will miss her.

I was so saddened to hear that my dear elder sister had passed away. I can not accept the fact that this cruel and heartless. I do not want to believe that good, optimistic, beautiful you will so hurry to leave.
Dear Wendy, We still remember you branded pie, wrap dumplings; We still remember every night on the phone to hear your laughter; We remember the unforgettable summer holidays that you and we spent in China in 2007.
August 1st, The sky was dark. We received the news of the death of our elder sister. Our mood is very heavy. Her short 68 years of life and dedication, thrifty, harmony neighborhood, love and sisters, to our left forever indelible mark.

I was so saddened to hear that Xuanwen had passed away. Xuanwen was my cousin, but she was like my older sister when we grew up in China. I was with Xuanwen when she first visited the US and we met many time in the past over 20 years. It was one of the best moments in my life when my wife, two sons, and I met with Xuanwen a few years ago at her home. I still cannot believe that Xuanwen is not longer with us anymore. While we grieve her physical loss, we feel that Xuanwen is in a good place now, since there is no hurting, no suffering, and no pain in Heaven. We will miss Xuanwen deeply for her kindness, wisdom, beauty, optimism, honesty, dignity, and particularly her love to others.
