We became acquainted with Bernice many years ago when my mother, Lucile Harper, married Bernice's dear cousin, Don Buschman.
Although I did not meet her in person until about 10 years ago, she was often mentioned in our home  Finally meeting her was delightful.
Don and I traveled to Palm Beach a number of times and had wonderful visits.  She was a beautiful, caring woman and  will be sorely missed.



We got to know dear Bernice through my husband's stepdad, Donald Buschman, who was her cousin. They were just four months apart in age (She made sure to let us know that she was the older one!), & he passed away on January 29, 2023. He deeply cherished their relationship.
We visited Bernice in Rye Brook once & then several times in Palm Beach in recent years. She was a character: 90+ years old & bombing around in her red Mercedes, talking a mile a minute! She was incredibly intelligent, interesting, funny, generous & gracious. What a very special  lady! We loved her dearly.
