I found a photo of the Healing Bundle I made for you years ago and thought it would be sweet to have it here for others to see.  Still one of my favorites.  Remembering you with admiration and kindness.

I am so deeply saddened to receive this news.  Ed and I knew each other from many years ago when he was at Scalamandre and I was starting a gift oriented tassel company.  He loved what i did and agreed to sit on my small board of advisors.  We both had tassel in our email addresses.  We had a wonderful love and synergy with textiles, color and design.  I never got my business going for several reasons but Ed and I stayed in touch.  I shared all my mixed media work with him.  He was a huge fan and I respected his insights. He had a great eye.  He told me of his daily walks and we boo'd when the stock market was red and yay'd when it was green.  I made a Healing Bundle for Ed when his daughter was ill.  I just looked at a picture of it a few days ago.  I didn't get a response to a few emails and thought the worse but tonight I googled and when I read another condolence I knew.  So sad.   In 2002, I transitioned to real estate and have been an active agent for 22 years.  Having sold a lot on Sutton, we always spoke for a bit about value, view, flow and footage  And having been raised in Forest Hills, many a service was at Schwartz Bros.  Dear Ed, you will never know how much your respect for my work meant to me.  May your memory be a blessing to your family and loved ones.  Ellen Devens

We were so saddened to hear the news of Ed's passing, which we only discovered when we realised that we had not received or exchanged our usual 'Season's Greetings' E mail this year.
We have known Ed for many years, from when I first contacted him in a professional capacity when I was studying Passementerie in London. He was extremely gracious, and later was kind enough to give me a glowing reference for my Masters degree application.
We met several times in New York, both at the Showroom and Mill and later in a personal capacity, and every time he was kind, witty, erudite - extremely dapper! - and an interesting and knowledgeable raconteur. I only wish that some of his anecdotal tales of high-end interior design had been recorded for posterity. 
He was so proud of the work and of his family - he told us so many times. Ed, we will miss you, and sorry we could not meet again in NY. Much love, Sue and Roger Lown (Surrey, England). 

My sincere sympathies to Larry, Risa, Johanna, Marisa and their families on the loss of their brother, uncle and father.
I had not met Ed before I stared working for him and was not sure of the person he would be. It did not take me long to realize what a kind soul he was. At first he was my boss and teacher, later my mentor and most importantly, my friend. 

He introduced me and was eager to share his passion, the world of passementerie. He was patient as he taught me the history and the terminology. He brought me to the mill to understand the construction.

He was there to offer kind words of encouragement, advise and listen. He found the good in people and things. He always looked out for me, whether professionally or personally.  I nicknamed him my “Jewish godfather”.  He was a person who I thought, selfishly, would live forever so he could always be there for me.  I am grateful I was able to say goodbye to this gentleman and dear friend.  He will live in my heart forever.
