Eileen C Sottung

August 26, 1941 – October 31, 2025

Eileen Sottung (née O’Rourke), of Lauderdale Lakes, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on August 26, 1941, in Manhattan, New York, she was the beloved daughter of Geraldine (née Prendergast) and Timothy O’Rourke.

Eileen was predeceased by her husband, George, and her siblings Thomas, Mary, Geraldine, Timothy, and Theresa. She leaves behind her daughters Victoria (James) Carey and Joanne Mendola, her step daughters Kathleen Stevens and Laura Hobgood ; her grandchildren Matthew (Danielle), Stephen, and Jillian Carey, Elizabeth Stevens and Ashley and Daniel Johnston; and her great-granddaughter Kaia Rose Carey. She was also a loving aunt to her nieces and nephew.

She will be remembered for her witty personality and the lasting impression she made on everyone who knew her. Eileen lived a full and meaningful life, and her presence will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, November 3rd, at 9:30 AM at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church in Forest Park, Queens, New York. Burial will immediately follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Queens, New York. Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life and honor her memory.

A religious ceremony will take place at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, 110-06 Queens Blvd, New York, NY, 11375, on November 3, 2025, from 9:30 am to 10:15 am.

The committal service is scheduled at Maple Grove Cemetery, 127-15 Kew Gardens Rd, New York, NY, 11415, on November 3, 2025, from 10:30 am to 11:15 am.
