Eleanor is survived by her 101-year-old sister Irma, her niece Helene {Checo} (who referred to her as Elizabeth, my 2nd mom), and her nephew Burt {Debbie}, who was the son she never had. She also has 4 great nephews, J.J. {Sasha}, Ryan {Jaime},Thomas and David, and she is a great Aunt to Joey age 5, Rilynn age 3, and her namesake Eleanora (Ellie) age 17 months. She loves those kids so very much, and always asked about what was new and going on with the kids--it made her world! She was a person who really was loved and cared about because she was always worried about anyone and everyone but herself. She is one of the most unselfish people in the world! Every day for the past couple of years was a struggle for her, but she never ever complained. She would say "it’s OK, tomorrow will be a better day", and she made sure it was. She had a mantra from Shakespeare that she loved sharing with her niece " What's in a name. That which we call a Rose by any other name would smell just as sweet." She did feel that what really matters in life is what something is, not what it is not. Everything positive, everyday all day!!! Once again everything in her very tough life she turned into something positive. No matter how tough things got she just kept on going, and it usually involved her love for her family. She dedicated her whole life to helping her mom "NANA" until she passed, also at the age of 106. Eleanor's dad passed in his early 30's, which was also very unexpected, and she decided she needed to find work and help out the family. She also had her sister Irma who she adored so much. To this day each sister was so helpful to the other one--such beautiful love they shared. They were the best of friends and really defined the word "LOVE." We were beyond blessed to have someone like Eleanor in our lives, and she made the world of difference to everyone who knew her. She will be missed more than words can convey, but will live in our hearts forever and ever!!
