Eric D. Metzger

We are sad to announce the passing of Eric David Metzger, 79, on April 9, 2023. Eric was a loving and devoted husband to Janice (Jane) Agid Metzger, father to Beth (Ross) Gruber, Wendy (Marco) Macaluso and Jodi (Todd) Romano. Incredible grandfather (Poppy) to Alissa and Mason Gruber, Marco Macaluso and Alexa and Emerson Roth. He was preceded in death by his parents Helen (Gimpel) and Norman Metzger and his loving brother Allen Metzger. Eric graduated from Great Neck High School South and the University of Miami where he met his beloved wife. They were happily married for 57 years. Eric worked in the milk business his whole career and retired in 2005. He loved retirement, especially spending time with his family, going on cruises and vacationing in Aruba. He was a dedicated sports fan and loved watching his Miami Hurricanes or New York Rangers play. But most of all he was the loving patriarch of the Metzger family. Eric’s entire world was his family and his death has left a huge void.
