I am very saddened by the loss of my dear cousin. He was a solid presence during my whole childhood and while we have lived on different coasts for the better part of 40 years, our family ties have held true. Gary, may you always be well in your forever home. 💔

Emily, I am truly sorry for your family's loss. Gary and I go back almost 60 years. We travelled across the country together and had many deep discussions and good laughs. And though we went our separate ways, I have always considered him a close friend. The old cliche " to know him is to love him" fits well. Take care and God bless.

I definitely will miss Gary he was very caring and sensitive and made everyone feel uplifted i believe we even started in the same neighborhood East New York Brooklyn

Gary was always present, positive when we'd meet. Treated me as a close friend. Will miss him. BDE

Just found out about Gary's passing. I was friends with Gary in elementary school- PS 220 in Queens. I attended his wedding with his buddy Stanley. I saw him last year at our Forest Hills reunion. He was a good kid, a sweet man and an old friend I have fond memories of. Rest in Peace dear Gary.

So shocking! I had no idea he was sick. Such a positive friend! I will truly miss him. I know him maybe 30 years from Queens. I’ll miss ya big guy! BDE

He was an amazing man. I remember how he loved working and teaching at Murray Bergtram H.S. My mom was also a teacher. We had talked about it. I’m sure he made so many young lives better because of his words of kindness and wisdom! Emily and Gary brought us the horrible news of October 7th that occurred in Israel, while we celebrated Simchat Torah at Havurat Yisrael. I remember- did you walk all that way from your home to tell us?? I never asked, but you both knew it was important to get the news out! More recently we were at HY for learning, both of you were so wonderful with all of us and especially Rabbi Levitt. Baruch Dayan HaEmet. May Gedalia rest comfortably in peace!

To all of Gary's family,

We grieve for your loss and hope for G-d's blessing to your whole family for the rest of your lives. We will miss Gary immensely. He was always a great friend and a very generous person especially to me - Mel and to all his other friends.

Condolences,

The Kilberg Family

We were very sorry to hear about Gary's death and we send our heartfelt condolences to everyone in the family. We know how much he loved everyone. We were not able to attend the funeral, but we were about to stream it. Knowing Gary, we understood what everyone was saying about Gary. He will be greatly missed.

My heart is broken. My childhood friend. Ive known Gary for almost 65 years. A truly remarkable human being. You will be so missed. Rest in peace my friend❤️❤️❤️

When I think about Gary today, I remember him from Forest Hills High School. He had the greatest laugh that seemed to never end. …May his memory be a blessing for all.

To the family
My sincere condolences on the passing of Gary.
We worked together for many years at Murry Bergtraum High School.
I was Gary’s supervisor. However, we were friends. I was honored to attend Gary’s wedding.
I could depend on Gary to take care of many important tasks needed by the department.
Most importantly Gary was an excellent teacher; he cared for the students and gave them his best.
Please know that I am praying for the family at this their time of bereavement.
Sincerely
Claudette Cutlar Day
