Well Ma, I have been thinking of you a lot. We visited Nana, Poppa and you on Sunday. David stayed by your side for quite a while. I think it is getting to him that his Nana is really gone. I am looking into getting you a nice stone. Still cleaning out your house. David took some things. I can't find Nana's vase. Rosh Hashana is tomorrow. Happy New Year. Missing you...Ava. P.S. Harriet,  it's almost one month since you left us,you  have been in my thoughts and prayers. I say Kaddish for you and my mom twice a day. I wish we could have had a better relationship with you on earth, so now that you are in peace I would like to say I always knew we would be close. Eddie, that was lovely. Yes, she loved Rock Hudson and in later years he was replaced with John Gotti. She had fond memories of you also. Thank you for sharing.

I have the fondest memories of sitting around the dinning room table at lunch with Brad, Ava, Elise and Mark.  Mark was always kind enough to invite me over - usually I would bring my lunch but if I ever forgot, Harriet didn't think twice about sitting me down at the table and making me feel like part of the chaos.  I will always remember Rock Hudson's picture in the kitchen cabinet and how glamorous Harriet always looked - even at lunch corralling the masses. She has left her mark on this planet with Mark, Brad, Ava and Elise - her memories now become part of ours.

Dear Harriet:
It was always nice seeing you when you came to visit Miami. The things you sent were always appreciated. I'm glad you liked the Decoupage of the "Tree of Life" that I sent you for Mother's Day.

Dear Harriet
You were cool before it was a word.  You were a pioneer who carved out a path for many.  I often think about how you managed those four wonderful kids (spoiled brats)of yours, on your own mostly.  How each one always left your home clean, fed, rested, stylish, well groomed, polite, respectful and productive.  You did things your way and stood up for yourself.  We always had honest, respectful communication and I quite enjoyed you.  Even in the end, you checked out before the nursing home option, how classy.  I wish you a safe and peaceful journey.

Kudos to Ava for her care and attention during your most trying time.

     I know we had a rocky relationship these past few years. I never wanted it that way. I always wanted to be a good son to you, but so many things got in the way. I am so glad I got to see you. You held my hand and stroked my arm. You seemed happy to see me. I'll carry that smile on your face with me for the rest of my life. I look at your pictures and think of you often.
