Helen Laskin

A beloved mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 23rd at the age of 97. Born in Brooklyn, Helen built a life defined by devotion to family and quiet strength, raising her children in Great Neck and spending her later years at North Shore Towers. Working in the main office at the Great Neck School System until her 80s, Helen remained remarkably independent and engaged with life until just three weeks ago, when she was hospitalized with pneumonia. A familiar and beloved presence at North Shore Towers, Helen delighted in playing canasta three days a week and was the scorekeeper, a reflection of both her sharp mind and love of community. Her enduring warmth, resilience, curiosity, and deep love for her family and close friends leave a lasting legacy that will be cherished by all who knew her. Funeral details are provided below for those who wish to honor her memory and pay their respects.
