Joel was above all, a gentle man.  my name is marissa, and I had the privilege of knowing Joel well.  he was understanding ,forgiving, fair  and passionate.  He was also what we call in French: " A Bon Vivant" meaning one who loves life, living and people.  My sincere condolences to Mrs.Sonja Weissman and her family.

As my partner in business  we spent 30 years together. Probably more time than with our wives. So it's fair to say we knew each other very well.

I guess we were the odd couple in peoples eyes. The Laurel&Hardy of the poster business. We just complimented each other so well.  Ones deficiency was the others strength. 
 There are hundreds of stories I could mention here that we went through in the Funky years. Many funny many challenging. But........ What I take away most from this marriage is your HUMANITY.
Your absolute POSITIVE approach to life
your GRACE UNDER PRESSURE and the feeling that you would always be there to help no matter what the crisis might be.
If anyone could ever count on someone IT WAS YOU.

So my partner, you who has thought me so much about life and it's challenges and it's resolutions I say to you, You will be welcomed up there because you are one of the special ones who made a difference in so many peoples lives.

Right now there is great emptiness in all of us because you are physically not among us any more.The cigars....the Mickey Mouse suspenders....the jokes...etc. But what we do have is the memory of you inside all of us that can never be erased.

Our chubby cherub with his signature suspenders, a cigar hanging from his mouth, and a twinkle in his eyes. You leave behind a million smiles and a million tears. You had a good run, my friend. We'll see you on the other side.
