Leo Treiber

Leo Treiber passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home after a brief illness on Dec 22, 2022. He was surrounded by Lilyan his beloved wife of 72 years and his family. He was lovingly cared for by Tammy & Sofi, his devoted care-givers.

Leo was born on February 16,1924 in Brooklyn to Sylvia and Sam Treiber. He was the older brother to his two siblings, Murray and Lorraine. He attended Grover Cleveland High School and was a proud WWII Veteran. After the war he briefly attended NYU but had to leave in order to support his wife and family. He opened a small grocery store in Brooklyn, where he worked for over 40 years.

Leo was a loving and devoted husband to Lilyan. Not a day went by that he did not hug and kiss her and tell her how much he loved her. He was a proud father of his two children Eric and Cynthia both of whom became accomplished physicians. He enjoyed a mutually loving relationship with his daughter in law Ruth and Cynthia's partner Uri.

Dad adored his two grandsons Jonathan (Ariel) and Adam (Sara). Seeing his three great-grand daughters Avrie, Emma and Charlotte gave him enormous pleasure.

He led a long life well-lived. He was loved dearly and will be greatly missed.
