Liza Yu Chen was a famous Funky Hat Lady in the New York Village So-Ho area, and she had a store, “Spring Gallery,” for many years on MacDougal Street, NYC. She created beautiful, funky hats, and many celebrities and customers loved her creations in magazines, newspapers, and radio shows.
She loved children and had always dreamed of having an orphanage to help sick and lonely children; she supported several orphan donation programs in China and other countries.
Liza passed away peacefully on 11/27/2022. She was 97 years old. She survives with three sons and two daughters. They are all well and living in the USA.
