Lyudmila Lvov was born in Odessa, Ukraine. She was the only child of Hanna Kucherova and Sergi Verekhov. Lyudmila moved to the United states in 1976 with her then husband Arkady Lvov and their only child Paul Lvov. From a young age, Lyudmila lvov sought to help people and chose to become a doctor. She attended Odessa National Medical University and Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, Elmhurst Hospital Center, Residency in Psychiatry.
