Dear Perry,

Mom and Mabel were the best of buddies.  These ladies left this plane within 24 hours of each other. As I said in concluding my eulogy for my Mom, she and Mabel are walking together on  that path of energy of the universe holding hands and laughing.
 I wish you and your sister and entire family sweet memories about a woman who was very special to me my whole life. 
I am sorry I was unable to attend her service but as my mom  told me "... with one tush you can't dance at two weddings at the same time." It  equally applies to funerals ;especially for two spectacular women.

Spending time with Aunt Mabel filled the soul! She lit up the room with her smile and made everyone feel special. I will miss her and all the wonderful time spent together. Perry and Sue and Iola, may your cherished memories give you comfort.

Dear Perry and Sue,

We are so sorry to hear of Mabel's passing. Age does not matter; whenever you lose a parent it is too soon. We have a very fond memory of celebrating a Passover seder at your home several years ago (perhaps 3?) when your Mom was among the guests. She was definitely the life of the party! We drove her home to the Carriage Club after the Seder, and she entertained us the whole time. It is a wonderful memory for us. Please accept our sincerest condolences on the passing of a very special lady.

To know Aunt Mabel was to love her! She lit up any room she entered, with laughter, warmth, joy and love. Aunt Mabel I will miss your beautiful smile everyday 🩷

Here we were with a dear friend, Susan, celebrating a one of Mabel’s birthdays here in Charlotte at Cafe Monte. I believe this was taken  in 2018, so it would have been her 98th birthday. Boy did I share a lot of laughs with these two!!

It was an honor and a privilege to know and love Mabel; I don’t think it was possible to know her and not love her. Her kindness, her wit, her incredible memory of all things literary, cultural, and historical never ceased to amaze me, and her unconditional love and devotion for her friends and family was truly admirable. Hers was truly a life well lived. May her memory always be a blessing to us all.
