Marco is Alesuo alive in my memory and that of my children.He Washington a dear friend,a good and generosi person. His presente is missing                                           

My dear sweet friend..Tomorrow is your birthday..you would have been 64….too young to leave this earth. The shock of your death has been unrelenting to my family and I. It is still difficult for me.to comprehend.  I was talking to you in May, and then you were gone. The most disturbing part is that I didn’t find out until August…I have been retired from Delta 10 years and I am not on social media, so how would I have known. I will always remember your kindness, especially to other’s. You and Michael surprised me with a beautiful retirement party in Rome..that was so sweet..but that was you. That is how I will remember you…I hope now that you are at peace and with your father and uncle in heaven. You were like my little brother and I will never forget you.

Dear Marco,
It seems so strange to write to you, knowing that you will never, ever answer me again. It was so hard for me to accept the idea that you are no longer on this earth; that our conversations, both live and via whatsapp, our thoughts, our opinions, our words, have now become mute. 
Our contacts interrupted in May, after a video call I made with my mother, your beloved aunt Dina, whom you always begged me to greet in your name and to whom I dare not give the pain of your incredible passing. 
You always asked for everyone belonging to your Italian family in Rome, the same family that is today mourning your untimely death. 
Be assured, dear Marco, that in the hearts of all of us you will live forever.

My dearest sweet Marco.. I cannot believe that I am writing this.. I did not find out about your death until yesterday..nobody called me.How I found out is even more distressing. We normally talk once or twice a month..without fail.. I had not heard from you since May, when you were on your way back from West Virginia. I thought you would call me later in the month about our conversation..when you did not call in June, I began to worry that perhaps something happened to your mother.  I called your house, and the mailbox was full..the same for July. I lost your mother’s telephone number, so I googled her name. Your name came up, but I thought  it was your father’s ..until I saw the age…I am heart broken.
I called your mother, but she was unavailable to talk. I got your brothers phone number and called him..he did tell me everything.
To think I will never hear your voice, or see your face, is hurtful.We have been friends since1979,  when  I first got to JFK. You use to come and watch us do the service up in first class, until I finally said, “you do one of the carts”…you were not too sure of yourself back then. You were such a gentleman, and I could see, the passengers loved it. Everyone loved your beautiful Italian. You were a class act.
Through the years our friendship grew, and considered you one in my family. We went through trials and tribulations. We discussed, and debated. I was always in your corner. You were always good to everyone…even though you were good to some, they weren’t so nice to you..that’s okay..they have to live with themselves.Michael always loved your conversations., as did my mother. I worried about you a lot. The frustration’s of the last few years had to weigh heavy on you. It weighed heavy on Michael and I. The frustration’s of your life weighed heavy on all of us. No matter what happened, you picked yourself up and moved forward..like I said, you were a class act. You will remain in my heart forever.

For about 25 years, I have been living in the apartment directly above Marco and sharing space in our building garage. I don't know him well, but I know him a long time. Marco was a friendly, helpful and interesting neighbor, and I will miss seeing him. I'm so very sorry for this loss. May Marco rest in peace.

When I worked a trip recently and saw that Marco was a passenger on my flight I was so happy to hear his many stories since we never had an opportunity to chat like that in the past. It  was hard to believe that same person would no longer be on a plane with me to reminisce of many mutual friends. My heart goes out to all who enjoyed him as did I. May he be in peace.

You will be missed. We flew together to Milan so many times and I always enjoyed your company. We were planning to meet up a few months ago, I’m sorry that never happened. You will always be remembered. Rest In Peace.

Ho appreso in questo momento la tragica notizia attraverso un amico comune.Io ed i miei figli Massimiliano e Sasha Barbot, conosciamo Marco da tantissimi anni e lo abbiamo sempre consioderato come una persona di famiglia. Chi ha conosciutio Marco lo ha amato per la sua gentilezza, la sua disponibilità, la sua integrità morale. Ho cercato, avendo dei figli, di stargli vicino come una sorella maggiore o quasi una mamma perché era grande la sofferenza che portava nel cuore. Questo accade alle persone estremamente sensibili e pure nell'animo. Amico caro, é grande il dolore che noi proviamo, l'idea di non poterti piu' rivedere, piuì risentirti é terribile. L'ultima volta che ci siamo parlati era il 5 maggio scorso. Ti porteremo  sempre nel cuore, avrai sempre un posto speciale per noi. Sono vicina alla sua famiglia, purtroppo non ho un numero telefonico dove contattarli ma li abbraccio. Voglio che i suoi parenti sappiano che Marco, da chi lo ha conosciuto, é stato molto amato perché era una persona bella nell'anima. Sto piangendo tutte le mie lacrime e non posso smettere , é troppo una grande perdita. Vorrei che i familiari mi co0ntattassero in privato perché presso la nostra casa arriva posta per Marco. Marco and I flew many many Rome trips together at Pan Am and also at Delta Airlines.  I was always happy to see his name on the  crew list. He was so smart and thoughtful and kind to  our passengers as well as the crew.  My heart is so heavy hearing the news of his sudden death. I will miss flying with him and laughing with him about shared experiences on flights and layovers over the years.  My sincerest  condolences to his whole family and all of his many friends and acquaintances. 

My cousin Marco was attending prep school outside of D.C.  I would pick him up on weekends and we would enjoy dinning out or movies.  He would frequently speak of his summers in Rome with his grandmother.  He had a wanderlust for travel and would romanticize about getting a job on a ship as a way to experience the world.  I will miss our conversations.

My sincere sympathy for your loss. 
I remember Marco when I first started as a flight attendant with Delta Air Lines. 
He was on one of my first flights to Rome and he was a pleasure to work with.
