I worked at the bagel shop for 5 years and Michael was a daily customer who would have his tea (and bring his own lemon) and sit and chat with us for at least an hour. Every day we talked about everything and he was one of our favorite customers and one of the few we were happy to see. We still kept in touch even after I left and for major holidays. He even went to a Russian restaurant I recommended and made me write out on notes what to order. Rest in peace Michael.

This photo was from the surprise 70th birthday party for Michael at Orchid Chinese Restaurant in Garden City, Long Island on 12/17/2017.    He is flanked by his friends Lynn Rothschild and Carol Schneider-Weinberg on top and Perry Packer and me on the bottom.  He was definitely surprised and we had a lovely evening filled with great food, great conversation and great laughs.  He will be sorely missed.

I knew Mike  for 20 years. He was my best friend. Whenever I needed somebody to take me to a doctor or go to an airport he was there. We ate out  with my other friend Alex  every Friday even during the pandemic. He was always very thoughtful with everyone he came into contact with. He was concerned with everbodies problems and would talk to you like a therapist. I have never met anybody else like him. He was a really good guy. He will be missed by anyone whom he came into contact with. He also spoke very highly of his family. That sort of brought him pleasure. Rest in peace .Mike it was nice knowing you.

I am so sorry to learn about the passing of Michael.  He was a true friend in every way.  I  
cannot  say enough good things about him.  He was a sincere friend.      You could count on Michael.   I dated Michael about 40 years ago.   I remember we had many dates that were always fun.   We enjoyed going out for dinner and a movie.   I remember once we played tennis ( or tried to play tennis in Cunningham park).     He always called you back if you left him a message.   We spent hours talking on the phone about everything and anything     Michael was smart and funny and generous.   He liked to walk and we often walked with our friends together.    I moved away but we still remained friends and spoke to each other regularly.  I visited NY again and over the years each time I came to NY we met at the diner to catch up.     He will be missed more than my words can say.   I still can’t believe you are gone.   Thank you for being my friend Michael.   You will always be in a tender spot in my heart.
