Mr. Rothman was the only principal I ever worked for.  I was a special education teacher at his school for 13 years and even though he was my supervisor I eventually considered  him a friend.  I remember bumping into him and his lovely wife at the beach one day.  I was with my wife who also taught at JHS 68.  She was telling Nat's wife that we were together and Nat did not pick up on what she was saying.  He thought we were just colleagues.  It was funny watching her explain to him what Eileen meant.  He lived  a long life and I want to send condolences to his family.  I also remember him telling me about his son who was traveling to Africa.  Rest in peace Nat.  I was privileged to work for you.

Nat was the most wonderful friend and mentor.  He was first my swim counselor at camp, for many years, and then assistant principal in the school where I taught.  Our friendship evolved from a parent-child kind of relationship to a true friendship.  He was acerbic and warm at the same time, a feat!  His relationship with Judy stands out as the quintessential model of a loving marriage.
I loved him, and will miss him.

Dear Judy. (and Family)..I will forever be grateful to Nat for helping me get my teaching position at George Gershwin JHS in 1968 (and which probably saved my life)...he was a super guy, a great teacher and a great role model...Barbara and I loved our get togethers at your apartment and our reliving the good old days  of the 1960's at PS 238 and Lafayette HS  and the Childrens Colony...I will miss him...and I do remember in gym class he could sure hit a "punching bag " and boy that hand grip!!!
