Nora Berman, 78, passed away on Sunday, January 7th after a brief illness. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. Nora, born April 14th, 1945, was the daughter of Frank and Janet Altschuler and sister of Isabel Allan.
Nora was a kind and nurturing English as Second Language teacher who touched the lives of many of her students and colleagues at Adlai Stevenson High School. In addition, she was a talented violinist and classical music aficionado from a musical family. She is survived by her daughter Melissa , son-in-law Josh, as well as her grandchildren Madeline and Ryan. May her memory always be a blessing
A funeral service for Nora will be held Friday, January 12, 2024 at 11:45 AM at Schwartz Brothers-Jeffer Memorial Chapels, 114-03 Queens Blvd, Forest Hills, NY 11375. Following the funeral service will be a committal service at 1:15 PM at Mount Carmel (Knollwood Park section), 57-80 Cooper Ave., Glendale, NY 11385.
