Loving Daughter, Sister, Wife to Al, Mom to Susan & Steven, Jeffrey & Ira, Grandma to Darren,
Nicole and Andrew, Great Grandma to Abigail, Furieus and Asher, aunt and a friend to all.
92 years young. A proud Jew. Born in Brooklyn on August 9th, 1930. Died April 1st, 2023.
A presence wherever she was. Feisty, spunky and NEVER at a loss for words. Smart and sharp.
A spit-fire who always spoke her mind long before it was fashionable for women to do so.
Lucid. Right up to her last day. She loved her life. She was spirited and adventurous.
A new reality after her husband of nearly 60 years passed 11 years ago.
But always put a smile on her face to show the world.
After her children were old enough and in school, she was an executive secretary to the President
of a Steel company for many years, then a medical secretary at Long Island Jewish Hospital for
many years after that. After retirement she worked as a part-time travel agent working for her daughter.
She loved to travel and explore new places, loved her coffee tho there was not a restaurant or diner to
be found ANYWHERE in the world to make it just right. She loved her many plants and doted over them.
Generally frugal with herself, she was generous with and loved her family very much, loved to kid and to laugh.
Her last joke was passing away on April Fool's Day. Reunited now with all her loved ones. Fly free!
A funeral service for Phyllis will be held Monday, April 3, 2023 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Sinai Chapels, 114-03 Queens Blvd, Forest Hills, NY 11375. Following the funeral service will be a committal service from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Washington Memorial Park, 855 Canal Rd, Mt Sinai, NY 11766.
For those who may want to make a donation: In her memory, she loved JNF (Jewish National Fund) for planting trees in Israel
