Dr. Bernstein was instrumental in assisting countless people to actually manage and control their diabetes

He was a brilliant man

The world is truly a poorer place due to his absence

If you are a person struggling with diabetes you most certainly owe it to yourself to view his videos on Youtube and be sure to read his 'landmark treatise' THE DIABETES SOLUTION

Have missed you every single day 🙏❤️‍🩹

To the Bernstein family, the medical community, and T1, T2 diabetics - all who have had their lives and medical courses profoundly influenced by Dr. Bernstein, be that in person, through lectures, or his prolific writings.

As a T2 (NODAT), Dr. Bernstein's books made quite literally a world of difference to me, a researcher and scientist. The Law of Small Numbers makes such eminent SENSE that I find it hard to believe this did not achieve universal acclaim in microseconds.

Alas, it still has not, and I routinely purchase more books each time I change physician teams, meet a new T2, or manage to the diabetes my wife and son's bear, as well.

T1's are indeed the primary audience, as those who need the diligence most. That said, tight glucose control that mimics, as much as can be, natural glucose regulation is of benefit to all.

Thank you, Dr. Bernstein. Your legacy has yet to be fully realized, may that happen soon.

I just learned of Richard's passing. We had many, many happy and hapless times at Jacobi's PVD Clinic, which we ran along with our boss, Heinz Lippmann.

Richard was always upbeat, though skeptical of political moves on the national stage and within the hospital. He was full of ideas and things he'd read in the last few days, and a valuable clinician too.

In his passionate reading of early work on regulating dogs' blood glucose he once said to me "If it's good enough for the dogs, it's good enough for me."

I'll miss him a lot, but the loss is palliated by his fundamental ideas and smaller ones that'll linger for a good long time.

Thank you sir for your book The diabetes Solution I have been a diabetic for 45 years, and it helped me unbelievably !

Rest in peace Dr B. I cannot believe you are gone. Thank you for all of the lives you have saved. You are a remarkable man.

True happiness ! Over a decade working together . This photo taken by the brilliant Dr. Anne Bernstein Me & Dr B headed to his Einstein reunion .

Dear Dr Richard Bernstein

I discovered you through youtube while lying in the hospital bed after getting diagnosed with Type-1 diabetes at the age 37 in 2019 on the eve of my daughter's first birthday. While dismayed on how I would live with this new condition discovering your book and YT channel allowed me to adopt this new lifestyle and within few months my Hba1c went from 13 to 5.6. I live in new delhi, India and I discovered there are many who follow your methodology in this part of the world also and I will continue to try my best to evangelise your message to the 100 million plus people who suffer from the complication of this condition in this part of the world.

All I can say sir - Thank you for showing us the light and a path for living a healthy life.
May you rest in peace and as they say in our Indian tradition
Om Shanti Om !! 🙏

Condolences to the entire family
Regards,
Gaurav Ahuja

My hero
The most important modern day diabetes specialist on the planet.
A good man who saved so many lives, including my own.
Thank you Richard you are loved

Because I implemented Dr Bernstein’s ideas, I went from pre diabetic blood sugars to normal blood sugars 16 years ago and am maintaining them. Both my parents had type 2 diabetes, and my mom was totally insulin dependent within 5 years. He personally responded to my questions via his YouTube site. I know it is irrational, but I thought he would always be there. I will always be grateful and pass along his wisdom. We will miss you, Dr. Bernstein!

Dr. Bernstein is my hero. He profoundly helped T1ds like myself, and he wasn’t afraid to advocate and teach what is right. My condolences to his family.

What a great man!

He was not only the patriarch of your family. He was a patriarch of multitudes. He turned his disease of diabetes into a gift. And he freely shared that gift with so many. His gift kept multiplying and continues to do so.

For example, he shared that gift with me. Then I was able to share it with my own patients as well as with the medical students and residents that I helped train. Some of them continue to share it with their patients.

We'll never be able to calculate how far his gift has and will continue to spread! I'm sure he is receiving incredible rewards in the next world. Still, I wish he would have stayed with us longer.

Thank you, Dr. Bernstein. Just plain, thank you

I read Dr. Bernstein's book when I was really struggling with my diabetes. I didn't feel my endo was giving me sound advice, so I called Dr. Bernstein's office to see if there were any doctors in my area that followed his method. Guess who answered the phone? The man himself! He gave me some good advice that I still follow to this day. I wish more endos would promote his "theory of small numbers" to help conscientious patients achieve normal blood sugar levels.

What a great man, that helped so many people. God bless him.

To the family of Dr. Richard Bernstein my heart is heavy with the loss of your dad, he helped so many of us through his podcast and book. I'm sure you are very aware of how he pour his heart into providing the best possible care to all who would listen and apply his instructions. Please note we all will miss him and may you continue to remember the wisdom and love he shared with his family.

The world has lost a wonderful champion who has shown us a way to live successfully with a tricky and sometimes frightening disease. He was a pioneer in offering us a way to live full lives when the prognosis for diabetics was bleak. Thank you Richard for the gift you gave us.

Thank you for your lifesaving work, Dr. Bernstein! You were a true pioneer!

Thank you for your inspiration, your wisdom, and your commitment to controlling our disease Dr. B. Your model has given me a wonderful life of adventure and allowed me to build a love for the ages even through the nearly 45 years since my Dx as a T-1 diabetic at 16yo.

Your engineer brain matches that of my father who upon my Dx developed a tracking sheet that is remarkably like your GlucoGraph.

I too am an engineer and have proven your system on myself.

Thank you, Sir.

I wish you grace and blessings and send my condolences to your family.

Sincerely,
Richar A. (Rick) Ragsdale

Dr. Bernstein saved my life. He's the reason I have three beautiful children. I'm eternally grateful and will never stop spreading his message.

My deepest condolences to his loved ones.

Dr. Bernstein was a remarkable man. We never met, but when I was prediabetic, on my way to full-blown type one, we spoke on the phone just once, with several subsequent emails, and he paved the way for me to transform my diet and maintain my health. I owe him a huge debt of gratitude. Also, I had no idea that he was a sailor and wish we had discussed that. I was involved in the America’s Cup and Maxi Yacht Racing around the world and would love to have connected with him on that level as well!

Over three years ago my son was diagnosed with t1d. My husband and I refused to apply the horrible advice given in the hospital (when the dietitian suggested that my son still can eat sweets, I just need to pump him with more insulin) and started looking everywhere to find more logical solution. And one that works. As two physicists, we decided that carbs must be reduced to the absolute minimum if the disease means that diabetics cannot break down carbs. We went to our first appointment with very long lists of precise questions. Questions about diabetes, management and human body biology. We wanted to find out, to learn, to understand what we deal with. We got no answers, doctors and the whole team weren't keen on our questions. We came back with one message: carbs are essential.
We decided to follow our path and cut the carbs to minimum. Automatically our son’s sugars and general wellbeing drastically improved, insulin needs dropped down to the minimum. We could see that our approach was working. But we still wanted to find the answers to our questions. Then I came across Dr Bernstein's book. The best book I could find. Dr Bernstein went into all the details, answered all my questions, showed that there is good way to go. He is my weapon to fight our diabetic team, to fight for our son's health, to advocate for common sense and logic, to stand up for your believes. He saved many diabetics from horrible consequences of following general medical advice, he saved my sanity and faith in good people. I never met him but will miss greatly this fantastic Gentleman. Thank you, Dr Bernstein, for being wonderful self.

Dr. Bernstein was instrumental in my diabetic journey as a role model for how to manage and to do well in the journey. I was diagnosed fifty years ago in Puerto Rico and had very little training (one piece of paper with basic instructions) and a ten-minute session in how to give an orange an injection. For twenty years I did the best I could with what little I knew. When I read "Diabetes Solution" I felt I had found the answers to how to manage and achieve normal blood sugars. I began to "follow" Dr. Bernstein from then on. I will be forever grateful to him for all I learned from him, for his positive and courageous stance on behalf of Type 1 diabetics, for all that he made possible in my efforts to live a more normal life. I thank him forever.

Though we never knew him, he's certainly added to our lives! I was prediabetic, and my husband is, though fighting to normalize his blood sugars and able to do that through his meter.
Thank you sir for you and your family's sacrifices to humanity. You will probably never know how many millions, billions, or trillions of people you helped.
My sincere condolences to your family, who I am quite positive are ever so proud of you.

Dear Bernstein Family:

I am so sorry to learn of Dr. Bernstein passing. He changed my life course and had allowed me to live a very full life. I was diagnosed as type 1 in 1964, and this is my 60th anniversary. I was a post-doctoral fellow at the Jackson Laboratory in 1980 when I read Dr. Bernstein's article on home glucose monitoring, and realized this was for me. I bought an Ames Glucometer, and never looked back. I could take better control of my diabetes - and started MDI.

I wanted to let you know how much I appreciated all he has done for myself, and other, type 1 diabetics.

Sincerely,
Michael P. Rosenberg, Ph.D.
Chapel Hill, NC

Dr. Bernstein, thank you for all that you did. Your treatment of diabetes is correct, low-cost, elegant and simple. I learned so much from you and try to share your knowledge with my friends and family.

Rest in peace.

I was Dr. Bernstein's nurse. I saw him every 3 weeks for 8 years. He was quiet, patient and wise. He always asked me about my 11years old daughter etc... I will miss him terribly! Thank you for your kidness, understanding and good advice. RIP!

I’m indebted to Dr. Bernstein for his indelible influence on the T1D community. The first thing someone did when I was diagnosed was tell me to get his books! My A1C has been in the 5s as a result, with tight control. He educated me more than any other provider or educator. I often told people he was my de facto endocrinologist! I’m very thankful for him, and I hope sharing this with you eases your pain. May his memory be a blessing, and may you experience comfort in mourning his loss.

It’s remarkable how he had such a profound impact on our lifestyle, even from the other side of the world, here in the Netherlands, Europe. His influence has been incredibly positive on the health of so many people living with diabetes. His legacy truly reached far beyond borders.

Dr. Bernstein was the one that introduced me to the low-carb diet for the first time, back in 2016 when I was diagnosed with T2D. If not for him, I would snack on chocolates all day long, and by now probably being blind and amputated. Dr. Bernstein essentially saved my life, and much more others lives. He deserves every respect for fighting the system and insisting on the truth he knows. RIP.

A brilliant and dedicated physician and a true patient advocate. I never met him, but I read his book, watched his videos, and studied his methods. He helped me believe I could do something about my diagnosis, and gave me hope that I could live life without the fear of inevitable complications. I’m thankful for the community he brought together online. Rest in peace, Dr. Bernstein 🙏

Dr. Bernstein was my T1D
mentor. He didn't know it, but when I came across his book everything started to make so much sense. T1D here for 50 years. I will always remember Dr. Bernstein and what he taught me. All should follow his principals. To his family and friends, I am so very sorry for your loss. Thinking and praying for you.

I saw Drin 1990s being a type 1 a fewtimes, while ibhad unusual issues, dr tried to help, being of like mind in control as much as humanly possible. Brilliant first as engineer, like my own fathers career, i took away much from our sessions, especially dr Bernsteins compliment to this day, of my impressing him with my intelligence Dr changed the face of type 1 Thank you for helping all of us in this day to day war with the enemy, We are forever grateful as we battle on. Gail Nadler type 1, 41 years

Rest in peace, Dr. Bernstein, you were an example to all of us, and your life experience a supreme motivation. God bless you. Laurence, Italy.

A Big Hug to Dr. Berstein family and to Dr. itself. Rest in peace and from one Diabetic patient from Germany sending all the love to hes farewell and the people around him :)!

Dr. Bernstein is a true hero of the ages, not just for T1s like myself by insisting we deserve normal blood sugars, but for all people by showing us it's never too late to better ourselves and our communities.
Thank you, Dr. Bernstein, for saving and inspiring so many of us. Rest well.

Dr. Bernstein has saved my daughter's life. We are so thankful that he shared his knowledge, wisdom and experience so generously. He gives me hope that my 12 year old daughter with diabetes type 1 can also turn 90 one day and lead a full life. Thank you! Sending condolences to family and friends, Jessy & Rosie, The Netherlands

Dr. Bernstein’s work changed my life.
I’ve lived with type 1 diabetes for 28 years, and when I read Diabetes Solution in 2010, it completely transformed how I managed my condition. His book gave me the knowledge and confidence to take control of my health in a way no other resource ever had.

He was more than a doctor—he was a pioneer, a teacher, and a source of hope for so many of us living with diabetes. It’s hard to put into words how much he meant. I’m so grateful for his courage, his persistence, and the legacy he’s left behind.

Rest in peace, Dr. B. You will never be forgotten.

What a remarkable contribution to the world you made, Dr. Bernstein. The Dark Ages of Diabetes was a grim place until you changed it. Even after you added a Medical Degree to your qualifications you were not accepted into the, profession nor credited for your work. It is with great thanks and admiration that I say you changed and probably saved my life .

Dr Richard Bernstein was a personal hero of mine. He was a man in dire straits, struggling with a condition so many of us have today, and he used his mind and intellect to solve it. Not only that, but he invested considerable time and energy into sharing his findings so he could help others. An incredible human being and a personal inspiration, may he rest in peace, himself and his work has touched all of us. - Liam

Thank you, Dr. B, for transforming the outlook for people with type 1 diabetes and showing that true health is possible through normoglycemia. Your legacy lives on in those of us who continue your mission. I will carry it forward in my own life and with everyone striving for the same. Rest in peace.

PhD Rosy Yáñez

Rest in peace, Dr. B. Thank you for everything you did for so many people with Type 1 diabetes.

Dr. Bernstein’s calm voice and insightful medical advice impacted everyone who listened. His work in diabetes education and research improved countless lives, inspiring hope and empowerment.
We extend our condolences to Dr. Bernstein’s family, friends, patients, and readers.

Thanks for always inspiring me to keep my blood sugar in the range where anything is possible!

What a pioneer in the diabetes community. I was fortunate enough to find, and read Dr Bernstein's book, Diabetes Solution, shortly after my diagnosis. Soon after I was off of the blood glucose roller-coaster and running normal bg. I, and many others, couldn't have done it without him leading the way. Thank you for all your hard work. You will always be close to my heart. RIP Dr. Bernstein 🙏 ♥️

Thank you Dr Bernstein for all that you’ve done for the Diabetic community. You have improved my life and the life of so many others through your work. You will be missed.

Dr Bernstein's work was life changing for me. When I read that he was able to reverse his diabetic complications by tight control that was a revelation. He literally did what no one at that time even considered possible. His story of obtaining a home glucose monitor at a time when that was just not done by patients was groundbreaking. He gave me a template to live my life. I feel he should have received a Nobel prize for his work. It is very disconcerting to see someone of such great stature pass. God rest his soul.

Dr. Bernstein save my life. After the earlier edition of his book titled something like 'The Glucograf Method of Diabetes Control' kept talking to me from a shelf of The Golden Notebook bookstore in Woodstock, NY, I finally bought it and put myself on the program. (Blessings to the person who put it there.) Not long after, I began seeing Dr Bernstein in his first office in Mamaroneck. That was about 40 years ago and here I am.
What a blessed human being who lived to help and inspire us all with his service.
Helen, New Paltz

Dr. B was the most admirable man. He has helped many, and will continue to help, through his learned books and his videos.

I am deeply indebted to Dr. Bernstein for letting me come and learn from him at his clunic/house. As a naturopathic physician, I immediately embraced his low carb methodology and needed to learn to properly educate patients on insulin dosing. I was with Br. Bernstein a week and kept in contact with him over the next decade. With his foundation I was able to become a leader of diabetes care in naturopathic medicine, help many patients over my career, and write my own diabetes book. That was all due to Dr. Bernstein's brilliance, and his willingness to share and mentor others. He has inspired and helped an endless number of people. Thank you, Dr. Bernstein!!!

I want to thank Dr. Bernstein for his wisdom and insight on diabetes care in every aspect: self monitoring, low carb diet, tight glucose control to minimize complication. His view about what is considered as normal glucose range still challenge mainstream medicine guideline even today. What pioneer work has been done by him! I wish one day a Nobel prize would justify his contribution to our society and medicine field. Dr. Bernstein will be greatly missed in diabetes community!

Dr. Bernstein changed my life in a profound way. I was diagnosed as a Type 1 during my childhood years, and while at a routine appointment, a doctor mentioned Dr. Bernstein's book to me. I quickly snatched a copy, read the book, and shared what I learned with anyone who would listen to me. I even bought books for friends who couldn't access one on their own. I can say that I, and countless other diabetics, now live a healthier lifestyle because of this man.

I never met Dr. Bernstein but I am blessed to know who he was, and I know through many others, his legacy will continue on indefinitely.

Rest in peace kind sir.

In RKB's early web telecasts, producer Steve Freed often remarked that reading Dr. Bernstein's book would lower one's A1c. This was very true and his webcasts were all done for free. He was a remarkable man and he's now with his wife who really got the whole evolution started by subscribing to a trade journal where Dr. B spotted the ad for an early glucometer. There are no words sufficient to express the gift and legacy of the man I will always remember as the Sage of Mamaroneck. See you on the other side.

When our son was diagnosed in 2019 with type 1 diabetes, we were feeling scared, alone, sad, overwhelmed and we thought our lives changed for the worse after diagnosis. But then we learned about Dr Bernstein and his book ‘The Diabetes Solution’ and we began the journey of resilience, strength and love. We followed his method as best we can and we can see our son is thriving.
We thank you Dr Bernstein, you saved us ❤️ Rest in peace.

Sending my most heartfelt condolences to Dr Bernstein's family. He was a unique person, so gifted, so intelligent, so caring and so knowledgeable. He changed my life with his book and his diabetes university. Without having ever met him in person, I feel deep appreciation of who he has and I feel so grateful that I had a chance to learn from him. Lots of love to his family, Esperanza Maguire (Cambridge, United Kingdom)

Forever thankful for restoring my life! True hero! May you rest in peace and your legacy live on forever.

Thank you so much, Dr. Bernstein! You've given hope and shown the way to so many diabetics all over the world, types one and two. You have changed lives for the better! You save lives. Words cannot express the appreciation that so many diabetics feel towards you. Many condolences to your family at this very sad time. Rest in peace.

Dr. Bernstein's book was the reason type II diabetes didn't kill me 18 years ago. I was 50 pounds overweight, heading for severe problems, when my mom told me to look up low-carb diets for diabetics. I found his book and ordered a used copy. I applied his advice and lost the 50 pounds and started to exercise again. Thank you, Dr. Bernstein!

What a worthwhile life Dr Bernstein led. My son, Steven, was diagnosed with diabetes in 2005 and because of Dr Bernstein's books and forum, I was immediately able to control his diet and insulin regime so that his control was excellent. In turn, I was able to help many of my own diabetic patients get normal blood sugars, have healthy pregnancies, prevent and reverse diabetic complications. I'm glad to have known Dr Bernstein and thank him for all his hard work in the face of astonishing adversity.

Dr Katharine Morrison. Ayrshire. Scotland.

Dr. Bernstein's books and educational materials completely changed my life. I will be forever grateful. May he rest in peace.

I am truly sorry for your loss. Richard was an exceptional person, and his memory will live on in the hearts of many. My thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

Dr Bernstein was a shinning light which gave hope to those afflicted by a terrible disease. Many thanks and may he rest in peace.

I’ve lived with t1d for 32 years. I found my path to health and happiness about 5 years ago. Dr. Bernstein’s book was a big help in guiding me towards the right direction. In my opinion he’s been the best influence on our diabetes community since Banting and Best. Thank you doctor for everything you did to help so many people during your life. My condolences to those who knew and loved him. My heart is with you. Rest well. 💙

I’m an deeply saddened to hear of Dr Bernstein’s passing. My son was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at the age of 2. The advice from the hospital was to give set amounts of carbohydrates with every meal and dose insulin accordingly. This advice combined with a picky toddler, meant he was living on a diet of high sugar snacks and a rollercoaster of high and low blood sugars. We knew in our hearts this wasn’t right. My own research led me to Dr Bernstein’s method. This was a complete game changer for my son and our entire family. The endocrinologists told us that we should be giving more carbs but could not argue with my son’s numbers and his healthy growth. Thankfully, we had the research of Dr. Bernstein to back us up when we were told otherwise.
I will forever be grateful to this incredible man.
My deepest condolences to Dr Bernstein’s family.

Dr. Bernstein was a legend and a true hero ; had I not read his book here in India I would never had got the courage to live life confidently after my daughters diagnosis . He has simplified life of Type 1 diabetics .
May his soul rest in peace and he will forever be remembered for his courage and contribution to the society . Lots of strength to the family.

I give thanks to God for Dr. Bernstein, who taught the world so much about overcoming T1 diabetes. In the words of Leviticus 19, Dr. Bernstein was a servant to mankind who "loved his neighbor as himself."

Five years ago, I was in utter despair.
My young son had just been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes — a condition in which the body no longer produces insulin. Insulin is the only hormone that lowers blood sugar levels. In contrast, dozens of factors raise blood sugar or reduce the body’s sensitivity to insulin.
High blood sugar levels can quickly cause damage to small blood vessels, especially in the eyes and kidneys. Our son has only one functioning kidney. I was at a loss.

Our worries deepened when our daughter was also diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. No matter how hard we tried — calculating, measuring, injecting insulin, exercising — we couldn’t achieve stable blood sugar levels.
Then we came across the work of Dr. Richard Bernstein.

His book Dr. Bernstein’s Diabetes Solution gave us the knowledge and tools we needed. With the support of our medical team, our family began to gradually apply his insights. And with success. Since then, our children’s daily fluctuations have decreased, their time-in-range has increased, and for the past four years, their HbA1c levels have been well within target — approaching those of people without diabetes.

Dr. Bernstein’s work made the difference between surviving and truly living with type 1 diabetes.

We are deeply saddened by his passing.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones.
His legacy lives on in the lives of so many.

Thank you, Dr. Bernstein.

Thank you for yor book and all your doing for the diabetes community in Israel.

I am so grateful for Dr. Bernstein. I’m heartbroken.

Thank you Dr Bernstein for transforming my life. I had really given up on my life when I found your book and your advice came as a god sent that has transformed my life. I am living and thriving with no complications related to diabetes.

Deepest sympathy to all those who knew Dr. Bernstein personally. Our son was diagnosed 10 years ago, and after months of roller coaster blood sugars, reading Dr Bernstein’s book was a big piece of getting him more stable! Our family will be forever grateful to this brilliant man! - Foley Family, Indiana

Rest in Peace Dr.Bernstein. Your guidance changed my diabetes journey. I am forever grateful.

Condolences to the family of Dr. Bernstein a great man. Please know that he left on mark on the world that will last forever. And he directly saved my life. So blessed was the world to have him for so long.

To the family,
I am so sorry for your loss. There are no words that could feel the void that I imagine ypu are feeling. While I never personally met Dr. Bernstein, I am forever greatful for his contributions to the medical field. Thanks to him, I can now live a full life watching my children, grandchildren and God willing, great grandchildren. Type 1 does not define me, or the million others it effects. It does not control me. It does not limit me. All in thanks of Dr. Bernstein. Thank you. God bless you all in this time.

To the family and survivors of Dr. Bernstein,
Please accept my condolences for the passing of this great man. He influenced me with his books and videos about Type1D diabetes management and control. He was truly an inspiration, and may his memory be a blessing.

You will be missed Dr. Bernstein. Your knowledge and wisdom has saved the lives of many diabetics. The world would be a much better place if only more people like you existed. May you rest in peace and may you be rewarded for all your good deeds.

He has helped hundreds, if not thousands of people change their lives for the better. A truly great man who will be missed and remembered by many. Rest in peace Doc. A true inspiration and he made the world a better place than when he found it!

Thank you for sharing your knowledge and passion Dr Bernstein! Thanks to your book I have discovered the solution to facilitate my life with diabetes and for this I would be forever grateful.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Yoor guidance gave me a better life. I can not thank you enough.

My beautiful Abba, my best buddy. I miss you already.

Thank you for everything. You helped so much.

I’m a Toronto-based journalist who was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in 2002. In 2006, about to cover the U.S. Open golf tournament not far from his office in Mamaroneck, NY., I wrote Dr. Bernstein to ask if I might see him. He agreed. I spent a few hours with him and wrote an article in The Globe and Mail, Canada’s national newspaper. about my visit and his important work. I continue to apply what I learned that day, and from his books and online tutorials. Dr. Bernstein was and will remain a huge influence on how I lead my life. I’m sure that is true for many people who live by what he taught, and lived. I feel fortunate that he invited me to see him and for his brilliant work and guidance.

Thank you dear doctor Bernstein for lifting so many type 1s out of despair and failing health.

You did more than any one of your time for us.
I will miss listening to you.

Kim Arcari

I am a nurse who was experiencing very high blood sugar. I read the information from the American Diabetes Association which was vague and non-specific. I knew there was no hope of remission of my T2D if I followed the ADA.
Then I read Dr. Bernstein's Diabetes Solution and it saved my life. I followed Dr. Bernstein's advice to print pages 160 and 161 (the "no-no list") and as he advised kept the pages with me in my purse at all times. I lost so much weight (and never gained it back) that people thought I had bariatric surgery. In the process I reversed my obesity, T2D, cardiovascular disease, asthma and arthritis.
Dr. Bernstein deserved the Nobel Prize for his life's work. Many physicians, such as Dr. Ted Naiman, have learned from him and will carry on his memory and his work.
God Bless Dr. Bernstein who saved so many lives and prevented so much needless suffering from complications of diabetes.

I thank God for everyday 💙

My heart is heavy learning of the passing of Dr Richard Bernstein

Dr Bernstein was truly heaven sent. God took his time with you.

What you have done for the diabetes community is second to none, absolutely none! Your dedication to learning, teaching and just sharing with our community are EVERYTHING.

My heart is heavy as I think, if not for you, where would I be today?

I thank you Dr. B. You were more than a man, you were a gift. You were a light. You shined bright for me and others.

May your light never dim and we continue to honor you as you transition.

Thank you Dr Richard Bernstein

RIP, legendary doctor, educator. You will be missed.

Dr Bernstein gave me and my twin sister (also diabetic!) hope for the first time in our lives.
We would worry endlessly, well what if we don’t reach a certain age with our diabetes?
Dr Bernstein has given me the strength and insight to carry on with my 30+ year diabetic journey.
I hope that everyone who knew him and his family are so proud of him.
What he has done for the diabetic community will always be remembered.
Not only that but he was a terrific and generous human being.
My condolences, we are all thinking of his nearest and dearest right now.
