To Richard's family - 
We (that's me Tina with kids Jamie and Louise in the UK; plus husband, Jonathan who is no longer with us either) were so very sad to hear the news about the passing of Richard.  Our main memory of him is at the Rimrock Dude Ranch in Wyoming when he and Christine were on their honeymoon.  It was a great trip as we rode our Appaloosa horses exploring local mountain tracks, picnicking and barbequing , white water rafting, joining in at the local rodeo and generally having lots of fun - such happy memories.  So that's what we'll remember about Richard - R.I.P. old friend xx

Just a week ago we bid bon voyage and a fond adieu to our dear friend Richard. It was a sad day, of course,  as we felt the profound loss of someone whose friendship meant so much to us and only grew stronger over the past few years. Still, it felt good to be with everybody sharing memories of Richard,  hearing moving  eulogies about him, telling funny stories, enjoying a meal celebrating his life with friends and family, and, most of all, seeing how much he meant to Ilana, Luca and Jeremy - Richard’s wonderful children of whom he was so very proud and who made him so happy. 

Richard, happy travels and rock on.  We’ll miss you here.

My prayers for Richard, grateful for the short time I knew him, and for his support in a time of uncertainty in my life. I pray for him to be at peace and that he be remembered by all who loved him. I also pray for Christine, for Ilana, for Luca, and for Jeremy, dear friends and family that I wish to see again soon.

Dear Lee and Esther,
I was so sorry to hear about the loss of your brother, Richard. Please eccept my deepest condolences . My thoughts and prayers are with the Roth family in time of grief.

I will always remember Richard’s incisive wit and passion for music, even at at early age.

We met in third grade. I’d often walk with Richard to or from elementary school, and eventually high school. We’d hang together at his place or mine, but he had the music.

When we were in college, Richard came to Cambridge a few times and we’d go see some music and party all weekend. He introduced me to a lot of music I’d never heard and was always determined to get me on the Little Feat bandwagon. Eventually I learned to play Willin’ on the piano and always flash back to those joyous and memorable times, as I am now.

We reconnected in our dotage, going to see a few bands, especially Derek Trucks. We shared our more recent dislike of Van Morrison and Eric Clapton for their vaccine idiocies. 

I always respected his good taste and sensibilities, his kindness and loyal nature . The world has lost a great soul.  I will miss you Richard.

I’ve known Richard since kindergarten, 1957. I will always remember our childhood  and teen years. His love of music became my love of music. He always found the up and coming groups and introduced them to me before they became super groups. We went to countless shows at countless venues. Our favorite concert experience was seeing the Allman Brothers at the Beacon.  I will miss him.

Richard skiing in Kitzbuhel on our trip to Austria in 2018. I've known Richard since junior high and we'd been the best of friends ever since. We went to countless concerts together both in high school and in the years since. Richard was also my theater whisperer with whom I shared many a delightful afternoon seeing some great Broadway and Off Broadway plays. His friendship was something I treasured and will continue to treasure.  I will miss his sharp wit, keen intelligence, advice, and the lifelong friendship we shared.
