Frannie and Gary 
   I was very saddened to hear about the passing of your father. I would have loved to have been there,but unfortunately I do not drive anymore. Your family is in my prayers.

1961. My Bar Mitzvah. One of the rare photos of us together. No cell phones back in the day. So memories touch the heart. Like our family get-togethers at Grandpa Izzy and Grandma Minnie’s place. Or the summer we spent at Camp Tel Aviv in the bungalow colony. In later years your devotion and frustration with your beloved Mets. Your unabashed hatred for my Yankees. No injustice failed your scrutiny whether it be the political situation or that Bob Barker felt compelled to kiss every woman on the Price Is Right. It is why I fondly called you my cuz-mudgeon. I will miss that. I will miss you. Rest in peace Cousin Robbie. And try not to let too much in Heaven bother you.

To my father,

It's been a little over two days now since you left us in body but I already feel you looking over us in spirit. It doesn't make it any easier. But I just want to let you know that what I said to you the night before you passed is so true and I promise you I will. I will look out for everyone and make sure everybody's okay like you did. And it's my turn to chase the monsters away. I love you and I miss you so much already and a part of my heart left this earth when you did. But in April, your granddaughter will fill that little bit of a hole and I will make sure she knows everything good that comes from me is from you and Mom. But don't be surprised if you hear her complaining to you that you passed along your sense of humor to me as well. You were suffering so bad in the end and I take solace in knowing that you are resting in peace now because that's what you deserve Munch. Give Mom a big hug and kiss for me and tell her thank you for looking down on us, but especially giving the medium such a hard time earlier this year. She was there with me having fun with him and it was hilarious. I will be the man that you always wanted me to be and I will continue to strive to be better and better each day so the legacy of the Monches name continues until it doesn't anymore. And please now that you have some pull up there can the Mets win the World Series?

You have always been the most loving, caring and barely-funny Dad that anyone can ask for. 

I’ll never forget when I failed my first science test in the 5th grade and I was so scared to tell Mom. I came to you and you told her for me- but not before you told me that I have to focus more on school and work harder. Thank you for that. I'll always reach for the stars. 🫶🏻🩷
