Roberta Bogart Hutner was born in New York on February 12, 1929, the younger daughter of Etta and Barnett Bogart. She grew up in New York City and graduated from Hunter High School. After school, Roberta pursued her passion and spent years as a dancer at such notable establishments as Billy Rose’s Diamond Horseshoe Nightclub and Paramount Hotel, both in Manhattan.
She married Meyer Hutner in October 1950 and settled down in New York City to raise her three children: William, Geraldine, and Eric. Throughout her life, she was a dedicated volunteer and officer of the Jewish association, Organization for Rehabilitation through Training (ORT). She was an advocate for teaching young people trades and skills, leading them on a path for earning a living and bettering their lives.
After the death of her husband in 1985, she settled in Florida, where she led a busy life volunteering for ORT of Broward County, and spending time with her friends and family.
Though the past few years were defined by increasing dementia and pain, she remained positive and happy, smiling when she was visited by friends and family, and always kind to those around her. She spent over five years at The Arlington in Naples, Florida, receiving excellent care and kindness.
She is survived by her three children; three grandchildren, Andie Hutner, Ben Husch (Erin Prah), and Jared Husch; her great grandson, Walter Prah Husch; her niece, Ellen Brooks, and Madison Ackerman, step-great-granddaughter, and friends and family.
