I am glad I got to know (and wish it had been more than) just a little bit of the twinkling personality of Ruth Shamansky.  A light has gone out here and is twinkling in heaven.  Rest in peace, Ruth.  My deepest sympathy and prayers for Ruth's family.

I haven't met Ruth Shamansky, but I know Rise Shamansky well.  If the old cliches are true (and cliches often are), that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, or someone being a chip off the old block, then Rise's mom, Ruth, must have been quite a person.  I hope memories of her will give peace and comfort to Rise and all those who knew Ruth.
