hey seth,
your boss fight was so good and it took me 26 attempts. cancer is terrible, and im so sorry you can't see silksong as it is now. may you live on forever in silksong, and god bless you.

Seth... Silksong has been out for a year... see you in Sea of Sorrow

Hello Seth. I wanted you to know that your boss was one of the best I have ever fought. In your honor, I went needle-only and did nothing else. You beat me so badly, but I persevered. One of the greatest fights ever, I hope you rest in peace and know you will be remembered.

Dear Seth,
We never met. In never knew you, but I heard your story after I fought your boss. Shrine Guardian Seth was an amazing fight. I told my brothers after I beat him that I felt sad about it. The music was so good. Your legacy will live on far greater than you could ever imagine. May God bless you, and may your family find comfort, even in their loss.

Cancer is a cruel thing. May Seth be forever remembered and loved as the creative and lovely person he undoubtedly was.

Deer seth i shall never know you i shall miss you dearly i greatly enjoyed your boss may you rest in peace - a teenager form the Netherlands

I got emotional playing against your boy in Silksong today and dueled him properly with only the needle to honor your memory..may your soul rest in peace and you be healthy in your next life

I don’t even know Seth but I’m trying to get the the boss as quickly as possible for him and I will not stop till I beat him in memory of him do sorry for your loss

I didn't know Seth or his story; we're not even from the same country. A couple of days ago, I beat the fight in the game with the character Seth drew, and the music that accompanied it didn't give me that adrenaline rush that many fights in the game usually do. Instead, I felt like something was wrong, like something was missing. And when I looked into it, I couldn't help but cry. I deeply regret his loss. I know I speak for many when I say we won't forget him.

I never knew him but I felt bad so I drew this and wanted to send this to you guys. Hope you can cope with this sad death. R.I.P

Haven't played silksong yet but this dude made my favorite character
Rip Seth

I don't really know how to put this, how to say what I want to say. I just defeated his boss in silksong, as I'm certain many other people are writing about, and it was a wonderful fight. I knew the background of it and if I'm honest upon passing it I was fighting tears. I cannot imagine that kind of loss, and I am truly sorry, even if I'm just a stranger on the Internet, you have my deepest condolences, and the kid made a wonderful fight. I'm certain he would have loved to see it.

It's always the best of us that are delt these hands. Cancer's hard, especially under the circumstances of our modern world. Seth designed a unique character, to my knowledge it was out of pure admiration for Team Cherry's world of Hollow Knight. For them to integrate this into Silksong, and for it to have such an impact in-game, is something I believe someone like Seth would've thought a miracle. This opportunity, though in death, is the absolute opposite of vanity. I hope that if there really is something after death, that Seth finds peace within it. That he is proud of everything that he's done, and that the cards he draws shall forever be in his favour.

Seth died in 2020 but he still lives in Silksong in 2026 rest in peace Seth

Broke down when I saw this story
To Seth Goldman, born of nail and soul pure, may his essence always be free from the endless void

I learned about seth via Hollow Knight: Silksong and J0J0jets's youtube video.

My condolences.

hey seth you and your family 100% dont know who i am but i just wanna thank yo for having one of the most fun boss fights in silksong while still beating my ass to the max
hope you and your family are doing very well and im glad you got to be immortalized in your favorite game series <3

Another stranger here. Rest in peace Brother, your character in silksong is amazing so thanks Seth for making it, I'm also really happy to see how team cherry was able to Integrate the character so well into the videogame, and the message they send is wonderful, seeing the character after being defeating starting all over again, enjoying every detail of life, I would guess team cherry meant to say Seth is still alive, whether in the memories of thousands of people that will play silksong or in another life. Somehow even though I don't know who Seth was in real life, I can’t help tearing up when I think about his story and how it ended.

hii, i know it must be hard for u to live without ur closest i lost my father in 2023 right before my highschool graduation but ur child or sibling was special he is moralized in arguably the greatest indie game. im in my 2nd year of computer science and i love playing games read books and explore. i hope ur feeling well and stay strong, bye...

This kid was a legend. He met Team Cherry and designed a character himself! I truly do wish he was able to play Silksong on day one. Rest in Peace, Seth Goldman, the legend.

Goodbye to Seth Goldman, to making one of the best boss fights of Hollow Knight: Silksong. he will forever be remembered, and cherished, he wasn't able to see the full game, but he saw enough of it.

Got to bee in one of the best video games ever.

Seth is a goat, he made one of the best boss fights in silksong and im so sad he didnt get to see it, Fly high king. RIP.

I wonder for how many years there will be messages left here by people who know of Seth through his contribution to the soul of Silksong. It wouldn't be the same game without his name there in the special thanks section of the credits, or without his artistic thumbprint. I hope there's value for those who loved him in life to see people like me carry a small piece of that life in my heart.

Fly High, Seth
I enjoyed every second of your boss fight, and I am very sad that you are no longer here. I wish you could see Silksong, it’s an amazing game. Rest In Peace

Goodbye Seth, I love the boss, wish I could sacrifice myself for you to play Silksong

Absolutely lovely story made my day and makes me enjoy the time I have R.I.P and forever immortalized in one of the best games I've ever played

I just started playing Silksong a few weeks ago, this led to me finding out about Seth's story. I adored the character and boss fight that Seth had a part in making. If only he could have played Silksong for himself. Perhaps if there is an afterlife, he could be playing it there. Even though I've never met him, I bet that he was a wonderful person. May he rest in peace, and perhaps play the games he loved as well.

Team cherry let him put him self in the game and he made one of the best bosses, Rest in peace Seth and remember you are a good boss maker.

R.I.P Seth Goldman, Lost but never forgotten.

Although I know I do not know you seth, thank you for being so amazin. Rest well, man. You seemed like an awesome kid and were taken away way too soon. I never met you or your family, but your story has touched my heart and you will never be forgotten.

It's truly beautiful how something as simple as a shared passion for a video game can unite so many people. Seth may have lost his battle with cancer, but his character will continue to fight players across the world forever. Thank you Seth Goldman and rest in peace. 🕊️

It’s a really good game
Godspeed seth Goldman

You live on forever through Shrine Guardian Seth.
Godspeed.

Hi there, I just wanted to leave this as a thank you for creating the experience you did. I'm a big gamer, and I've played a lot of games that have had a real impact on me. Shrine Guardian Seth absolutely takes the cake though, and I loved every second of it. It was pure magic, and I hope that, as minute as this online message is, that it can reach somewhere in the universe to wherever you are now. Our creations are pieces of ourselves that are just as alive as we are, and you've left a remarkable one. Fly high, Seth Goldman, and thank you.

Hey Seth, the boss you made for Silksong is really cool. I just got to him, and he's throwing mad hands. I hope they have Silksong in heaven so you can see how Shrine Guardian Seth turned out. Fly high man, and I'm wishing your family the best.

Rest in peace, friend. All we can do now is honor your memory with one of the best games ever created.

Greetings from Spain.

Rest in peace Seth, may you be remembered forever in your favourite game.

My condolences to the family. I discovered your contribution to Silksong and I wanted to thank you. This is the most ancient song from my country writen for those who left behind.
Όσον ζης φαινού μηδέν όλως συ λυπού προς ολιγον εστί το ζην το τέλος ο χρόνος απαιτεί

As long as you're alive, shine, don't be sad at all life is short, time asks for its due
Seikilos epitaph 1/2 AD

Rest in peace Seth. You were right, Seth in game is an absolute monster and beat me up. I refuse to beat your scores in the flea circus. You deserve top score. I hope wherever you are, that you’re enjoying Silksong. While it’s not terminal, I have a chronic illness so I know what it’s like to find solace in video games. I never knew you but my heart still aches all the same at your loss. At least your memory will live on through silksong 💚

Thank you, Seth, for keeping me alive.

I found Hollow Knight during some of the hardest years of my life, when my mental health was at its worst. I struggled to find any reason to go on living, but when I learned about Seth's wish and his future inclusion in Silksong, I made a promise to myself. I told myself that I had to live to play Silksong, that if Seth himself couldn't see his wish realized, then I had to see it in his stead.

Now that Silksong is out, I look back, having just met Seth in the game. The promise I made back then is fulfilled. My mental state has improved greatly over the years, but I'll never forget how he helped me through those dark times.

We may have never met, Seth, but wherever you are now, I hope you're proud of me.

Now, I might have not know Seth himself. But now that I have played his boss in silksong. I am starting to miss him, Im glad that you guys were able to get your son to be a legend in a game. Team cherry and all their fans will always remember Seth. I am very glad that he still gets to be remember as a legend in his favorite game. If he saw his character in silksong. He would be estatic. We will all very much miss Seth and will remember his legacy through his little boss in silksong.

Truly one of my favorite bosses in silksong, I never knew Seth, but he did genuinely become one of my favorite bosses in silksong, may he fly high, o7

Seth,

I first heard about you through your character in Hollow Knight: Silksong. It was a fantastic fight - you would have loved this game. I, along with many others, am thankful for the character you brought to life, and we are happy that you get to live on every time someone plays the game.

This one goes out to you.

thank you for your work, the time i saw the character seth and fought him in silksong i knew something was tragic about him, and i was not wrong

i hope god has a copy of silksong for you in heaven </3

seth,

i wish we could of seen more of your grace, sadly cancer had to take another soul away from us that deserved so much more. I'm happy you get to live on in such an impactful piece of media in my life, and one of the most emotional moments when playing any game, i hope you rest well and live on in such an amazing grace.

live on shrine guardian
you are a true defender and a great friend.
and thank team cherry for allowing your light to shine onto other peoples lives.

Hello Seth,

I am a big fan of hollow knight. When I am fighting the character Seth in silksong, the music, the move set and his reaction got me excited. I could tell this guy is something I have to be seriously and take him down. Once I beat him, I feel so satisfied. I know this character was created by you, and I also read the story about you. My wife pass away from sarcoma cancer last year at 31, and left my baby son and myself behind. The character reminds me a lot and my tears come out once I beat him. He is a true fighter and never give up in darkness. The same way as my wife fighting for cancer. This is one of the best games I play in my life.

Seth has had such a profound impact on me, even though I never met him. Experiencing the character he designed in Silksong truly touched me in a way no other game, song, or movie ever has. Thank you for that. Seth touched the lives of so many of us, so many of us who share the same love and interests as him. You will forever live throughout Pharloom, and the community who loves it.

If only he could've experienced his creation. o7 to a real one

I never met Seth, and I haven't experienced his character in Silksong, but to have a character so cool that even as I avoid spoilers I still find out about? To create a character that cool, Seth must have been a really cool guy himself. rest in peace, and don't stop kicking butt.

Found out who Seth was for his creation in Hollow Knight: Silksong. It’s truly a tragedy that he wasn’t able to see his character come to life, but I hope he is happy with how beloved said character is to hundreds of thousands of people.

Hi Seth
Thank you for one of the greatest boss in hollow knight silk song.
I hope you rest in peace my buddy.

Like a lot of other people who have recently left their condolences I didn't know Seth personally and learned about him from his boss in Hollow Knight: Silksong and I hope he rests in peace and that he knows his boss was such a fun and difficult fight

Thank you for your art and your heart. We will remember.

I never knew Seth personally, but as many here have recently wrote, a lot of people have found out about him through his boss fight in the game Hollow Knight: Silksong, and I'm so happy that his memory will forever live on in the millions of people that play the game. Thank you, Seth, I hope you're resting well now.
