Teresa Rivera

Teresa Rivera, daughter of Herminio Lamourt and Margarita Oliver, was born on October 15,1931 in Lares, Puerto Rico. She passed away peacefully at her home in Forest Hills, NY on July 28, 2022. She was 90 years old.

Teresa is survived by her loving daughter Lizabeth and siblings Sarah, Rosa, Aida, Carmen, Jose, Miguel and Efrain plus several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Teresa moved from Puerto Rico to Brooklyn, NY in 1961 and it was there that she met and married the love of her life, Miguel Rivera. They were married 41 years until his untimely passing in 2006.

She was a devoted stay-at-home mother to Lizabeth and a talented crafter who loved embroidery, sewing and crochet and for a while had a side-business selling her beautiful wares.

Her family is happy to know that Teresa and Miguel are reunited in heaven and can continue the love that they have always shared.

A visitation for Teresa will be held Thursday, August 4, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Schwartz Brothers-Jeffer Memorial Chapels, 114-03 Queens Blvd, Forest Hills, NY 11375. A funeral service will occur Friday, August 5, 2022 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM, 114-03 Queens Blvd, Forest Hills, NY 11375. A committal service will occur Friday, August 5, 2022 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Linden Hill Methodist Cemetery, 323 Woodward Avenue, Ridgewood, NY 11385.
