Two years... and a snowstorm to mark your anniversary. 

Another snowstorm, years ago; Roberta and Ted, visiting from Queens, giving us an extra few days to enjoy your company. Ted, native New Yorker, trekking over a mile through the snow, just for fun, to the local general store.

How we miss you ...  

Smiles for the memories; sadness for your physical absence; love for always.

My name is Carl Wolf. I was a friend of Ted's way back in Junior and Senior High School during the 1960's when we lived in Bayside, Queens. I was in the process of trying to reach out to  him, hoping to re-establish contact. I am very saddened to hear of his passing. He was a wonderful, understanding and creative person. I was privileged to have Ted as my friend for 50 years! Throughout his life, Ted was consistently kind and intellectually engaging.  We conversed about everything from literature to politics to movies and his very favorite topic of all, science fiction! He was a devoted husband to Roberta,  a wonderful teacher and simply a very dear man. May he Rest In Peace!

I remember Ted telling me about an argument he had with Zelazny over something in the Amber novels. I told him you can’t argue with Zelazny over the novels since he wrote them. Ted said that he knew the details better than Zelazny. He was probably right.

Ted was my soul mate. I will miss him dearly. All I have of him is the sweet and great memories of our lives ❤️ together.  I can hear him saying how much he loves me .  We had so many plans but God wanted an angel as sweet as Ted.

Ted was a hairy guy from his beard, eyebrows and even fingers. You can imagine my surprise when looking down, I saw hairy bear claw feet—not a werewolf. But, it was October 31st at Bushwick High School´s English Department! 

After Ted wrote Roger Zelazny, I explained “bastard amber” was the color of a gel in theater lighting, not a curse word. 

Ted paid his respects at this very chapel in 1996, when my mother passed away. Rest in peace.
