Theresa Bissoon

Theresa Bissoon was the daughter of the late Madodari and Clarence Madray. Wife of the late Charles Bissoon. Loving mother of the late Elena. Survived by Sylvena, Whellimena, Derrick, Sherry, Dennis, Desmond and Kelvin . Theresa was the grandmother of Kemo, Shantell, Ryan, Jason, Preiya, Sanjay, Faith, Jude, Elijah, Justin, Lucas and Josiah. Great grandmother of Alyssa and Aiden. Sister of the late Colbert, Rudolph , and Veronica. Survived by Marjorie, Reginald, Raymond, Marian, Inez, Ashton, Margaret and Sandra .

Theresa Bissoon was born on February 15, 1936 in Missphoebe Port Mourant, Guyana. She was a hardworking woman. She made a living by selling baked goods at the New Amsterdam market. She took on countless jobs to raise her family and make ends meet. Theresa then migrated to America in 1972 from Guyana. She continued to work various jobs to build a new life for her family. After four years in the United States, she returned back to Guyana to bring the rest of her children to America. Before she retired, she was working as a home attendant. When she retired, she went on to live a quiet life serving God. Always praying and reading her bible.

Theresa Bissoon passed away on February 10, 2024 at North Shore University Medical Center. Theresa was loved by many, especially her family and friends. She was a unique, loving and caring individual and she will be deeply missed by all.

A visitation for Theresa will be held Thursday, February 15, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Park Funeral Home, 114-03 Queens Blvd, Forest Hills, NY 11375. A funeral service will occur Friday, February 16, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, 114-03 Queens Blvd, Forest Hills, NY 11375. A committal service will occur Friday, February 16, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Maple Grove Cemetery, 127-15 Kew Gardens Road, Kew Gardens, NY 11415.
