

He was born on June 18. 1923 in County Armagh, Northern Ireland to William and Sarah Weir. When Albert was 3 years old he moved to Ontario with his family settling in Crozier . He was united in marriage to Delores Pelletier on August 9. 1945.
In early adulthood Albert worked on the Alaskan Highway. He was engaged in trucking after returning from the Alaskan Highway. He worked as a mechanic for Reid’s Garage and then West End Motors. He was a custodian at the Robert Moore Elementary School. He and Delores owned the Little Pine Motel in Emo and he also worked as a stationary engineer with LaVerendrye Hospital. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and other outdoor pursuits. He and Delores travelled extensively.
Albert was predeceased by his wife Delores on September 30, 2003 and his parents William and Sarah, brothers George, Ed, Harper and Anthony Weir; sisters Dorothy Rostie and Evelyne Marsh. He is survived by his sisters-in-law Lila and Dorothy Weir.
He leaves behind his daughters Cheryl and husband Gary Baldwin, Karon and husband Howard Wilson; granddaughter Sarah Baldwin and husband Oscar, great grandson Ridley Baldwin, granddaughter Courtney Baldwin and granddaughter Sherri Lynne and husband Robert Martin as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
He also enjoyed the company of a special friend Pam Makarchuk.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 6, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at Green Funeral Home with Father Wayne McIntosh, St. John’s Anglician Church, officiating. Interment will take place at the Fort Frances Cemetery.
Following the interment, everyone is invited to a luncheon at the St. John’s Anglician Church, 360 Church Street, Fort Frances.
Friends may visit prior to the service on Friday between 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.
The honorary pallbearers will be: Larry Buffington, Ray Watson, Ronald Deschamps, Duane Rostie,, and Murray Weir.
