

It is with sadness that the family of Alden Ruth Molnar, age 84, of 550 Osborne St., Fort Frances, Ont., announce her passing on Friday, November 19, 2010 at LaVerendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances, Ontario.
Alden was born May 29, 1926 in Fort Frances, Ontario, where she was raised and lived her life. On June 18, 1945, she married John Morrin. Together they trapped and hunted and settled in Rice Bay. Following John’s passing, she married Jan Molnar in May 1966. They lived in Fort Frances and operated “Fort Frances Upholstery” for many years until his passing. In 1970, Alden met Pete Johnson and they were together for twenty years. Over that time, they enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and gardening. Alden also was a member of the Catholic Women’s League, the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 29, and the United Native Friendship Centre. Alden will be greatly missed by her three grandchildren, Michael Morrin, Monica Morrin and husband George Keffer, and John Tyler Morrin Jr. and wife Lori; six great grandchildren, Amanda, Marcus, Kayla, Tamara, Austin, and John Morrin; four stepchildren and their families; one sister-in-law, Doreen Allan of Fort Frances, ON., four brothers, Lawrence Allan and wife Lorretta, and Ted Allan and wife Arlene all of Fort Frances, ON., Lewis Allan and wife Sheila of Kingston, ON., and Glenn Allan of Red Deer, Alta.; three sisters, Josephine Berglund of Keewatin, ON., Beatrice and husband Don Galbraith of Bear’s Pass, ON., and Carol Homuth of Winnipeg, MB.,daughter-in-law Karen Morrin of Fort Frances, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Rufus and Isabelle Allan; two sons, John Morrin and Mark Morrin, grandson Lewis Morrin, two brothers, Ray Rufus Allan, and George Allan; one sister, Frances Williams; and one
brother-in-law,Arne Berglund.
A memorial service celebrating Alden’s life will be held on Friday, November 26, 2010 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Fort Frances, Ontario with Father Francis Pudicherry officiating.
Honourary pallbearer will be family and friends
Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery in Fort Frances, Ontario at a later date.
