She was born on June 4, 1946 in Kirkland Lake, Ontario to Simon Joseph and Violet Meany. She was raised in Kirkland Lake and as a young woman moved to Atikokan for a short time. She finally settled in Sioux Narrows, marrying Jack Armstrong. Together they ran Cookie's Supper Club and Cabins. They retired in 2010 when Jack became sick, moving to Fort Frances to be closer to family.
Cookie was predeceased by her husband Jack on July 11, 2011; parents Simon and Violet; son Bradley Armstrong; daughter Darlene Nyberg and siblings Joseph Meany, Helen Hull, Harold Meany and Gary Meany.
She leaves behind her son Donald Schneider; grandchildren Damon Nyberg, Michael John Nyberg, John Schneider, Kellee Spendlow and Dean Schneider; great grandchildren Nicolas Schneider, Rayah Spendlow and Mazlynn Spendlow; stepdaughter Lynn Couture and family; son-in-law Mike Nyberg; siblings June Levinski, Donald Meany (Donna), Sheila Whitney, Bryan Meany (Sharlene), David Meany (Florence), Phillip Meany (Lee), Deborah Duggan (George) as well numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held.
