

Clarence Flloyd (Apache) “Gi zhi baa a ni mod” Oshawee, age 52 years, of 1301 Elizabeth St. E., Fort Frances, Ontario passed away at his residence on Monday, June 20, 2011.
He was born on July 12, 1958 in Lac La Croix First Nation, Ontario to the late Gilbert and Ida Oshawee.
In his early years, Clarence guided seasonally over many years for Mark Zupp. He also worked at Nym Lake near Atikokan as a Fire Fighter. For pleasure Clarence loved his artwork. He also loved to spend time with his family, and was very happy go lucky and loved to laugh alot and joke around. Clarence will be missed very much by his family and friends.
Clarence is survived by his four children, Gilbert Oshawee (Veronica) of Ottawa, ON., Jesse Oshawee (Kerriann) of Maniwaukee, ON., Sasha Oshawee (Nathan) of Winnipeg, MB., and Natasha Oshawee (Evan) of Ottawa, ON.; four grandchildren, Brenden, Justin and David Oshawee, and Daniel Melrose.
He is also survived by three sisters, Elizabeth Bluebird of Duluth, MN., Margaret Bluebird and Rosanna Oshawee (Mike) all of Winnipeg, MB; two brothers, Lawrence Ashawe and Eugene Oshawee both of Lac La Croix First Nation, ON., and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Albert Morrison Sr. and Angus Oshawee Sr. and one sister, Marilyn Rose Ida Oshawee.
A traditional burial service will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2011 in the morning at the Lac La Croix First Nation Round House. Elder Steve Johnson will officiate with burial in the Lac La Croix First Nation Cemetery.
A wake will be held on Friday evening at the Lac La Croix First Nation Round House.
Pallbearers will be his family and friends.
