“You know, I’ve had a great life. I got to do and see all the things I wanted and had four wonderful children and spent my life with two really good women. I wish I could spend a few more years with Mary but the few years we had together were pretty great.” (HF)
Harlan was born to Velma and J. Leslie Faragher on March 9, 1939 and lived his whole life in Fort Frances. He married his high school sweetheart, Patricia and together they raised their four children on Rainy Lake. Harlan enjoyed the great outdoors spending time hunting, fishing, trapping and logging. He loved to tell stories about his adventures which usually included the stuff most children should not hear. But that was dad.
A close friend wrote: “In the world of political correctness, Harlan was a breath of fresh air, a true friend that would tell it the way it is. This would be a much better world if it were populated with more folks like Harlan.”
Harlan was pre-deceased by his parents, Velma and Les Faragher, his infant brother Donald and brother Ken (Chick), his wife Patricia and daughter Connie and son-in-law, Jamie Kircher. He leaves behind his partner Mary King, his sister Marilyn, sons Mark, Darcy and daughter Karen and their spouses. He also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Rest in peace H!
As per Harlan’s request, there will be no funeral service. Cremation has taken place.
