

Julia was born on Friday, June 25, 1937 in Pontrillis, Saskatchewan to the late Samuel “Sam” and Patricia “Lilly” Panchyshyn. She came to Fort Frances in 1954 where she had lived since. She had worked in the laundry department at the Rainy Lake Hotel and also as a baker and cake decorator at the Bonnie Blue. She also did catering with her husband Fred. She enjoyed making lawn ornaments, crocheting, embroidery and watching hockey. She had a passion for gardening and cooking. She was known for her cabbage rolls, perogies and Christmas baking and you never left her home without having a sample of her many talents in the kitchen.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Larry (Elizabeth) of Swift Current, SK, Eugene (Krys) of Winnipeg, MB, Evelyn (Richard) Roy of Kenora, ON, Patty (Ron) Meunier of Thunder Bay, ON and Karen (Patrick) Wilkes of Peterborough, ON. Also surviving are her 6 grandchildren, Adam and Aaron Roy, Brad and David Meunier and Heather and Ryan Wilkes, 3 great grandchildren, Hunter, Ashton and Nathan Meunier,
her brother Nick (Marty) Panchyshyn of Saskatchewan and sisters Eva (Bob) Diemuth of Calgary, AB, Evelyn Zipp of Saskatchewan as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband Fred on December 29, 2004, her son Arthur, nephew Dennis Panchyshyn, her sister Jeanette Crosswell and brother-in-law Bunny Zipp.
A celebration of Julia’s life will be held on Friday, February 22, 2013 at 2:00 p.m at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, Ontario with Father Francis Pudicherry officiating.
The honourary pallbearers will be Julia’s grandchildren Adam and Aaron Roy, Brad and David Meunier, Heather and Ryan Wilkes.
