

Leona was born on Monday, October 22, 1917 in Echo Bay, Ontario to the late James and Sarah McLean. She enjoyed knitting and playing cribbage but most of all she loved spending time with her family and enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had worked as a cook at Quetico until her retirement at the age of 65.
She was united in marriage to Lawrence Gilbert Marwick who predeceased her on June 20, 1984. She was also predeceased by her daughters Donna Marwick and Nancy Hawley, her son Lawrence Marwick, brothers Edmund, Bill, Norman and Wes McLean and sisters Sadie Drysdale, Dorothy Merritt and Alma Jackson.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Cindy Nick of Fort Frances, Heather (Eric) Swanson of Ladysmith, BC, 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 2 brothers Colin (Doreen) McLean of Thunder Bay, Charles McLean of New Westminster, BC as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances with Reverend Barbara Miller officiating.
Interment took place in the Pineridge Cemetery in Sioux Narrows, Ontario with Reverend Carl Emke officiating.
The active pallbearers were Eric Swanson, Lawrence Marwick, Greg Hartlin and Jordan Ellsmere.
The honourary pallbearers were Glen Swanson, Harry Swanson, Mark Hawley and Justin Nick.
