Marjorie was born to William and Luella Holland on November 18, 1934 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She began her education there and in 1947 her family moved to Fort Frances, where she continued her education and began her career at LaVerendrye Hospital in admission; she soon advanced to Accounting Machine Operator and the Accounts Receivable as well as cash.
In 1958 she married Victor Hull and moved to the U.S.A. Her husband was drafted into the army and they were stationed at Lawton, Oklahoma and Fort Riley, Kansas, where their daughter Debra was born January 4, 1961. When returning to Canada with her daughter, she became divorced and decided on a new career change – Hardware. It really became one of her “Nitches” in life. She began her employment with Gillmor and Noden and it than became Don Law Hardware. There was an opportunity for Marjorie to advance her career with Wells Hardware, when it became KDS Hardware; she was promoted to Manager and Buyer of the housewares department, which involved trips to Gift Shows.
After 21 years of her career in the hardware business, her life took another change. Her mother had passed away, and after a couple of years her father came to live with her six months of the year, and her sister Patricia in Kenosha, Wisc. USA the other half of the year. Marj felt that seeing her father’s health failing, that she should be home with him during the day as well and decided again to go into another field of employment, her love of children, convinced her that there was an opportunity for her to operate a Home Care Facility for working mothers. Her home soon became filled with children from the age of infancy to school age. Marjorie was very dedicated and caring and continued until retirement, she always had a waiting list and never had to advertise. Again with another 21 years of service, totaling 43 years of service to the public, including 2 ½ years with LaVerendrye.
At this time, she renewed her friendship with Boris, they travelled in the same circles when she was 17 and Boris was 22. It was through their volunteering that Marjorie and Boris developed their relationship and married June 23, 2001. On Boris’ passing, Marj increased her volunteering and her personal interests; consisting of, being a member of Community Policing Committee, member of the Voyageurs Lions Club, Special Olympics, Torch Run, Terry Fox, Non-Dominational Coffee Break in Emo as well a member of S.A.L.T (Seniors in Law Enforcement Team). At one point, she was involved in participating in the Emo Fair and won first prizes in her crocheting and her Jams and Jellies. She enjoyed badminton, Line dancing, The Bicycle Club, her up dated home yard, her friends, and some travelling and skiing as well.
Marj was a loving and dedicated mother to her daughter Debra, and her grandson William Mason was the apple of her eye, as well as her nephews Hans and Jason Holland whom she leaves to mourn her loss. Other family members as well, her great granddaughter Lorren, brother; Bradley Holland, sister; Patricia Carroll and family and her sister-in-law; Barb Holland, nephew Tom Holland Jr. and his family, niece; Wanda Tecllnor and her family, cousins; Terry (Linda) Heitenar, Peter (Colleen) Gervais, Gerald (Brenda) Sas and their family, Bob (Anne) Elves and their family and Jack (Arlene) Elves and their family.

The Rose Beyond The Wall
A rose once grew where all could see,
Sheltered beside a garden wall,
And as the days passed swiftly by,
It spread its branches, straight and tall.
One day, a beam of light shone through
A crevice that had opened wide
The rose bent gently toward its warmth
Then passed beyond to the other side.
Now, you who deeply feel its loss,
Be comforted- the rose blooms there-
Its beauty even greater now, nurtured by
God’s own loving care.
