She was born on July 19, 1937 in Lac La Croix First Nation to George Ottertail Sr. and Elizabeth Labott. She lived in Lac La Croix First Nation all her life. Queen loved to be outdoors and lived a traditional life. She loved to keep busy, tending to her house and children, spending time outdoors harvesting with her husband Clifford. She loved teaching her grandchildren how to prepare traditional foods.
Queen leaves behind her husband Clifford; children Les Whitefish (Adrienne Whiteman), Barry Whitefish, Delbert Whitefish, Stacy Whitefish, Dorothy Whitefish (Curtis Atatise) and Roberta Whitefish; 13 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; brother Albert Ottertail as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents George and Elizabeth; sons Ken, Norman and Ramsey; great grandson Noah and siblings George, Bob, Everett, Bessie and Elizabeth.
A traditional service will be held at the Whitefish Family Home in Lac La Croix First Nation starting on Saturday, September 28, 2019. Elder Tommy Johnson will officiate.
The pallbearers will be Queen’s family and friends.
