Tanya and I had met when we were 7 and 8 years old. Our aunts played baseball together...and she lived just around the corner from my cousin Louise... the 3 of us were the 3 amigos

New years day 1989 she had woke me up with a phone call ... barely awake she called to tell me she just had a baby girl.... she asked "Gloria... did you hear what I just told you?"
She repeated herself... that's when I jumped and was wide awake
She had told me how scared she was and that she was also so happy about having a daughter.
She always had a way of surprising me and also keeping certain things a secret until she was ready to let me and everyone know.

I will cherish the memories I have of her... The selfish part of me wishes she was still with us... the other part of me is grateful she is at peace and no longer suffering the pain

"Tanya... you will always be my best-est friend. I love you "

Tanya was a beautiful person, inside and out. She always made sure the people around her were smiling. I can only take comfort in knowing that she is now in the arms of her mama. My deepest sympathy to Stevie Sr., Steve Jr. and families, I will keep you in my prayers. ~Bonnie Roach

My dear old best friend. I remember the first time we met.....ur 2 brothers fighting my 2 brothers in the back lane. And each threatening to get their big sister to fight. When I went out to the street, inching my way closer to the steeet corner I could see ur head pop around and then we were face to face. And thank gawd, you spoke up and said let's let our brothers figure it out. You were one grade behind me. Luckily our school had shared classes like gr 2 & 3, 3 & 4, etc, we were in the same classes til grade 6. Tanya, thank you for accepting me as me, you were my first real friend and I love you and will miss you dearly, may your spirit soar high with the eagles
