

Vivian was born at home in Pratt Township, Ontario on Sunday, December 22, 1935. She grew up in the Bergland area attending McCrosson School and working at several tourist camps. Vivian also worked for many years at Peterson’s Stop and Shop in Bergland, Ontario for Gerda and Art Peterson. She enjoyed her work which allowed her to visit with all the surrounding neighbours and tourists to the area. Vivian worker her final years at the Nestor Falls Motel, retiring to Fort Frances at age 65.
Vivian spent her retirement watching her Maple Leafs and Blue Jays. She enjoyed cross word puzzles and was an avid reader. She especially enjoyed visiting with family and friends sharing a laugh and a Blue or two.
She leaves to mourn a sister Linnea Nixon, brother Stanley (Mary Lou) Peterson of Niverville,
Manitoba, niece and nephews Debbie and Brad Nixon, Henning (Shay) and Erik Peterson, Aunt Lottie Whitefield and numerous cousins.
Vivian was predeceased by her parents Gerda and Henning Peterson, brother Folke Peterson and brother-in-law Leonard Nixon.
Funeral service were held on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Bergland, Ontario. Pastor Carolyn Kreger officiated followed by interment in the Bergland Cemetery.
Friends visited with the family on Monday evening from 7 until 8 p.m. at Green Funeral Home.
The pallbearers were Henning Peterson, Erik Peterson, Curtis Peterson, Walter Wagner, Lawrence Larson and Bob Tofte.
