After completing his education, he joined the family business- a grocery store and bakery in Richmond. He met and married his late wife, Veta, in St. Mary. The union produced three children; Anthony, Dwayne and Camille. Headley and his family relocated to Kingston where he started his own business. He entered the food industry and established a bakery which he owned and operated until 1976 when he and his family migrated to the USA.
The socio-economic and political atmosphere in the island was the determining factor for their migration to the USA. The family first resided in Miami-Dade County and later relocated to south Broward County. The entrepreneurship blood ran through his veins and thus, he started his trucking business; signing contracts with various companies, which enabled him to provide for his family.
He was a supportive, loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. He was very helpful to friends and family. He could be called the modern day GPS! If you had problem finding a place, just call Headley and he would give you the accurate direction which would take you to your destination. He loved basketball and was a great fan of the Miami Heat. He also spent time playing dominoes on Saturday evenings.
He will be greatly missed.
May his soul rest in peace.
