Albert Isaiah Walters

Albert was born in Penlyne Castle, St. Thomas, Jamaica, to Isaiah Walters and Francis Hall on December 10, 1938. He went to Mount Fletcher School in Mavis Bank. He married Florett Sadie Benson on May 29, 1965, in Manchester, United Kingdom. He lived and worked in England for a period of 36 years, most of the time spent working as a bus driver for Greater Manchester Buses. He was a devoted Christian, having received Jesus as his Lord and Savior at the age of 21. He attended the New Testament Church of God, Brooks Bar, Manchester, UK, where he was a deacon, taught Sunday School, was involved with the men’s ministry, and was a member of the choir.

Albert and Florett divorced in April 1992, and on August 16, 1997, Albert married Joyce Falconer and moved to Lauderdale Lakes in Fort Lauderdale, where they spent 26 years together. There he attended Living Word Christian Center and was again involved in ministry as a deacon, teaching Sunday school, in the men’s ministry, and as a member of the choir.

Albert is preceded in death by his son, Winston Wayne Walters (53).

Albert is survived by his wife, Joyce Walters, and his children, Joe Rose, Robert Benson, Audrey Walters, Philip Walters, Hyacinth Harley, Hopeton Walters, and Deborah Walters. Stepchildren Andrea Decosta, Georgette Harper, Trevor Maloney, Samantha Falconer, and Rick Falconer.

Brothers Sam Walters, Baltimore Walters, James Walters, and Ambrose Walters. Sisters Geraldine Walters, Luneth Walters, and Eunice Stewart.

Albert is also survived by his 24 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.

A visitation for Albert will be held Friday, April 12, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM (EST) at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 2401 Southwest 64th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33317.

The funeral service will occur Saturday, April 13, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM (EST), at 2401 Southwest 64th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33317, with Dr. Everton Anderson, Manor House International, officiating.

The committal service will occur Saturday, April 13, 2024 (EST), from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 2401 Davie Road, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33317.

Arrangements are made through Forest Lawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens.

The family of Albert Walters wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses of Holy Cross Hospital, Florida Medical Center ICU, and Vitas Palliative and Hospice Care.
