Mr. Alvin Albert Hanson died on February 12, 2018 at University Hospital in Tamarac, Florida due to complications of kidney failure as a result of infection (sepsis). He is survived by his wife Mrs. Gloria Hanson of 65 years as well as his sons Everton, Morin and Alwyn Hanson. He was the 5th of 10 children being born to Stanley and Martybell Hanson on August 20, 1928 in Schoolfield, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica (West Indies).
After being an educator ( including school principal) he worked for the Jamaican Agricultural society and the British American Insurance Company in Jamaica. After migrating to the USA in 1960's he worked for New York City Fire Dept. as a Building Inspector and then later with New York Life Insurance Company for 20yrs. After retirement he and his wife moved to Florida. He was a member of St. Benidicts Episcopal Church. He leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 4 great grand children.
He will be greatly missed by his family and all the people whose life he has influenced. May his soul rest in peace.
