Anita Coke White, 78, of Fort Lauderdale, FL passed unexpectedly on August 29, 2018. Anita was born in Memphis, Tennessee on July 15, 1940. She graduated from Messick High School, Memphis, Tennessee in 1958, and then graduated from the University of Tennessee School of Dental Hygiene. She was preceded in death by her parents, B.F. Coke, Sr. and Ruebene (Miller) Coke, her brother, B.F. Coke, Jr. (Boots), grandson, Austin Bartlett White and her husband, Sherrill W. White, Jr. Anita is survived by her children, Sherrill “Tripper” W. White, III (Linda Rae) and Vickie Gilman (Mark), and her grandchildren, Carter White, Madison Gilman and Bailey Gilman. She was a life member and past president of the Cordia Circle of the Fort Lauderdale Garden Club, and a longstanding Emeritus Master Judge for the local flower competitions. Anita was a longstanding member and past president of the P.E.O Sisterhood, Chapter EE. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Kraeer-Fairchild Funeral Home, 4061 N. Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale, FL.
