Born ‘Anite Bléus’ on November 3, 1934, in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti, she was the first child of Antoine Bléus (father) and Carmelle (DeRosier) Augustin (mother), and was raised by Mariana Wainwright (aunt). In 1954, she moved to the United States to marry her husband and start a family.
She had strong Catholic values and, especially in her later years, loved watching her daily mass on television. She was a praying warrior, always with her rosary beads within arm’s reach, and she used to always say, “Do what’s right and do what’s good. Be kind and help others!” She embodied these guiding principles by always helping her brothers, sisters, cousins, and their children when in need without question and without hesitation. She loved her children, her siblings and loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious meals for her family. Her family and friends will always remember her as a witty and incredibly talented cook. Thanksgiving dinners were always a huge and anticipated event that highlighted her culinary skills.
A short committal service and burial is scheduled for 10:00am on Sunday December 6, 2020 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, located at 2401 Southwest 64th Avenue, Davie, Florida 33317. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Anite’s life.
