Anna Baptiste (née Jeanty), affectionally known as “Manmi Pipine”, beloved daughter of Victoire Merone and Emile Jeanty, was born in Camagüey, Cuba, on July 26, 1926. At the age of 5, her family relocated to Port-au-Prince, Haiti, where she was raised with her brother, Lys Jeanty, and sister, Alice Jeanty.
She met her late husband, Leoney Baptiste, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, whom she was married to for 33 years; and together, they raised their loving and blended family. She is survived by her children: Marie Carmel Champagne, Margaret Sénosier, Frantz Jeanty, Garry Baptiste, and Karline Blain.
In search of a better life for her family, Anna first immigrated to Boston, Massachusetts, then later resided in South Florida. Anna was a dedicated wife, mother, and humble person. She was one of the kindest people one could ever meet as well as a devout Christian, as she opened her heart and home to many people over the years.
Anna worked hard and took great pride in providing a high-quality education for her children and continuously pushed for academic success for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family’s accolades and success are a testament to what Anna instilled in each of them, in which she took great pride. Anna loved her family, and the family loved her back to the arms of the Lord. She leaves behind to cherish her memories: three daughters, two sons, eleven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, stepchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Anna is gone; however, her spirit will forever live on. We miss you, but we know that you are with the Lord, who you love so much, and those who have already left us. We all love you; may you rest in love, peace, and paradise.
