Born in Brooklyn, New York, Tony proudly served in the United States Army. On May 10, 1969, he married the love of his life, Patricia Fugnitto, with whom he shared 57 years of marriage, building a life filled with love, family, and cherished memories.
Tony will be remembered for his remarkable strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit. Throughout his courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease, he faced adversity head-on, demonstrating extraordinary determination while continuing to greet others with a smile and bring joy to those around him. Even during life's most difficult moments, Tony's warmth, humor, and ability to find happiness in the everyday remained a testament to the person he was.
Tony had a remarkably sharp mind and a wealth of knowledge on just about any subject. A natural conversationalist, he loved sharing stories and engaging in lively discussions about food, history, sports, and everything in between. His wit, curiosity, and ability to connect with others made every conversation memorable.
An avid golfer and talented baseball player in his youth, Tony had a lifelong love of sports and was a devoted New York Yankees and New York Giants fan. He especially enjoyed spending time in the pool, where he found both exercise and the companionship of good friends. Tony also had a tremendous appreciation for good food and the simple pleasures of life, especially when shared with the people he loved.
Above all, Tony treasured his family and the relationships he built throughout his life. His strength in the face of adversity, his sharp intellect, his joyful spirit, and the love he shared with others leave a lasting legacy.
Tony is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Patricia Fugnitto; his daughter, Gina Marie Fugnitto; and his son, Marc Anthony Fugnitto, along with a large and loving extended family family and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Anthony E. Fugnitto; his sister, Rosemarie Johnston; and his godson, Michael Frank Pecoraro.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 2500 NE 33rd Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33305.

Tony's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated caregivers at Trustbridge and Synergy HomeCare of Broward for the kindness, compassion, and respect they showed him throughout his journey.
Tony's life was defined not by the challenges he faced, but by the strength with which he faced them, the joy he continued to share, and the love he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
