Atlee Archibald Bennett

Atlee (Ats) is survived by his wife Barbara (Precious), his daughter Deelia, and his 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his 8 siblings, and his daughters, Lorraine and son, Shaun.

Atlee was born on August 30, 1931 in Santiago de Cuba, to parents Aaron and Lillian Bennett. He attended Mt. Hermon All Age School in Portland. In 1960, he moved to Bronx, NY and accepted a position as a Bellman/Bell Captain at Hotel Taft and subsequently Hotel Lombardy, where he worked for more than 40 years.

Uncle Ats was a great family man and a loving father. He married Barbara in 1960 and the couple had 3 children.

He enjoyed playing Scrabble, dominos and watching WWF and the Yankees play baseball. His family and friends will always remember him as a dedicated New Yorker still giving his regards to Broadway in comedy.

A funeral is scheduled for 11am on Saturday 08/14/2021 at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pastor Robert Brady will officiate. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Atlee’s life. The family would like to thank the staff at Davita for many years of loving care.
