Benjamin “Fernand” Fanfan was born on December 15, 1931 and passed away on January 14, 2021, due to complications of an accident.
“Fernand” was born to Benjamin Fanfan and Germaine Cothiere in Dondon, Haiti. After graduating from the Military Academy in Haiti, he rose through the ranks of the Haitian military to the final rank of First Sergeant.
Determined to provide a better life for his family, he moved to America in 1985. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. He was unendingly proud of all his children and wife and always tried his best to support them.
Benjamin was also passionate about community, politics, music, and soccer. He loved to sing! Benjamin also expertly played the flute and clarinet.
Anyone who knew him knew that he was the most loving father, grandfather, and husband a family could ask for. Benjamin was predeceased by four brothers and one sister. His legacy will live on through countless family members and friends.
